Three of us on holiday. Toured the local wineries for tastings, lunches and dinners. Esk Valley Lodge was an excellent 2-night home base for us. We stayed in the spacious Sauvignon room. EVL is charming and very comfortable. Beautiful grounds. Delicious breakfasts. Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Given the opportunity, we'd definitely stay here again!

The lodge is set in beautiful grounds and the view from the Sauvignon Suite where we stayed is glorious. The suite was extremely spacious and comfortable and very well set up with everything you could need. I just wish we had been there for longer than two nights we could easily have stayed a couple of weeks. The owners live...

We stayed 2 nights in the Semillon Room. This room was a nice size and had its own bathroom and a separate toilet room just down a private hallway. The owners, Jes and Eileen, were very friendly and accommodating. We were invited to join them and 2 other guests the first evening for wine and hors d'ouvres on the patio,...

I would like to start off by thanking the owners of this property. They went above and beyond, exceeded my expectations. The Savignon room offers the most amazing balcony views over the properties gardens. The breakfast is made fresh and as tasty as they look. Most amazing weekend

We where made very welcome, the room had beautiful views and was very comfortable. There are little extra's that you wouldn't have expected. We had dinner on our 2nd night which was absolutely wonderful. We would definitely stay again.

The fourth time we have stayed at this blissful spot and we both feel it just gets better and better. Jes and Eileen are the perfect hosts, starting with the nightly get-together on the terrace where they welcome guests with a bottle of wine and lively conversation. Instead of going out to dinner, we just love to stay in and...

Just off the highway, but so far from it. The gardens are idyllic (complete with rabbits so my daughter was in heaven), the house itself is fantastic, the roads around offer some great drives with worthy stops at several wine farms, and Napier is only 10 minutes away.

Location: Esk Valley Lodge Vistors: young German couple Purpose of vist: fun Result: the perfect experience Why: never had a better place to stay during a holiday The evaluation of this 4-day stay at the Esk Valley Lodge is not easy. In this serene environment join your lovely hosts Eileen and Jes in a drink and pupus and discuss ones activities achieved and intended. Besides the Art Deco tour, Jes will highly recommend a drive up Te Mata and the Gannet Tour Overland at Cape Kidnappers. Take the Gannet tour, it surpasses anything similar in The Galapagos. Back to our B&B,...
