Donna & Chris are certainly perfect hosts for a B&B, very welcoming, offering plenty of advice on what to see and do whilst in the area. We stayed in the Kings Retreat which had a great balcony with magnificent viewsof the Waitangi river and the Bay of Islands. The spa bath was excellent for 2 people, it even had a...

Awesome view and we all loved it. A perfect place to spend my birthday with my Hubby, 2 BFF's (Best friend forever) and their husbands. We loved the interior decoration and the room Wow is the word. Will definitely come back again. Thank you Chris and Donna.

Bay of Islands was the last leg of our 20-day NZ tour and it couldn't have ended on a sweeter note. We booked Crisdon Castle based on someone's recommendation, and when we booked, the only available room was the Knights Nook and we took it. Its located in Paihia near Haruru Falls a little away from the madness, and is...

My partner and I were travelling in New Zealand for a month and were lucky enough to spend a few days at Crisdon Castle. It was an amazing bed and breakfast with outstanding food, friendly hosts, and unparalleled views from the balcony. We had the most romantic evenings here and wished we could have stayed longer. I would recommend it...

There are wonderful views over the Bay of Islands from this B&B. Whether the idea of trying to turn a breeze-block bungalow into a mediaeval castle is a good one I am not sure. When we arrived, it was unfortunately very obvious that our room had not been properly cleaned - the previous guests had not flushed the loo. There...

After touring the North Island for 2 weeks we decided to finish our holiday with a 2 night stay at Crisdon Castle. We certainly left the best till last! Due to the hot weather we decided to check in early, which was not a problem to Donna & Chris. Donna, Chris and Jack made us feel very welcome, giving us...

After 20 something years together we decided to get tie the knot and wanted somewhere small but intimate during our tour of New Zealand. I discovered Crisdon Castle on Trip Advisor and made contact. What a find! From the first email right through to our departure we had fantastic friendly service, nothing was too much trouble. Donna even organised my...

ARRIVAL We found Crisdon Castle via Tripadvisor and based on its good reviews, decided to give it a go for a four-night stay in mid-October 2008. Booking was efficient with a swift pre-designed email response, although there was a minor glitch as the email was addressed to the names of what seemed to be the people who had made a...

We would highly recommend the wonderful B&B to any one staying in the Bay of Islands. We had booked the "The Knights Nook" but upon arrival Chris and Don upgraded us to "The Kings Retreat". What a lovely room, very stylish and comfortable with a tub that can only be described as decadent! The view off the private patio is...

Recently visited New Zealand for a holiday with a group of Canadian relatives and friends. I live in Australia and had the opportunity to catch up, any excuse for a holdiay. We had the most wonderful time, what a beautiful country. I have travelled New Zealand before and was thrilled to be able to go again. We started our trip...

“The pool make's the view great. Looks great and definitely adds something to the place. The thing is, it's only 1 feet deep. Not that much swimming going on ;) Knight's Nook is the cheapest room available. (the only one they had available for us those nights) It's good, it has nice spa-bath, great bed, spacious and is filled up with nice details to make it complete! When i get to Paihia, i'll definitely stay here again.”
