This was a home from home in a fabulous location - Ken and Carol were perfect hosts, so welcoming that we soon felt they were friends we'd known for years. They couldn't do enough to make sure we felt at home, while also giving us total privacy and freedom to come and go as we pleased. Definitely the most relaxing...

We (my husband, baby, and our two friends) flew into Auckland and drove to Rotorua on our 11 day trip, and it was truly worth the drive. Rotorua is breathtakingly beautiful - yes, Lord Of The Rings sort of beautiful - and The Lake House is the cherry on top. We arrived late after 9pm, but owners Ken and Carol...

We had the very fortunate experience of spending 2 nights at the Lake House in Rotorua, and what a fabulous stay it was. Whilst in New Zealand for the World Cup, my partner and I took a mini road trip through to Rotorua, and had an excellent experience of the place. The hosts, Carol and Ken, were most welcoming, and...

Perfect location, right at the lake. Picture this: at night at arrival a lovely glass of wine with great conversation with the 2 POMS :). Having the quietest sleep ever under a downy duvet. Waking up seeing the lake from the immense veranda. Getting the kayak out of the shed. Paddle for 2 min and see the sun come up...

This was one of the best places we stayed in NZ. The view from the room was fantastic with unobstructed lake views. In fact, the lake is right at their backyard. You can even sit at the verandah to catch the last rays from the setting sun. The owners of the place, Ken and Carol were excellent hosts who provided...

We stayed 4 nights at The Lake House. It is situated in a picturesque and quiet location with a large garden directly at Lake Rotorua, without the sulfur smell of the town. From the large veranda and the cosy room (Rua room which is nicely decorated and perfectly clean, new bathroom, free WiFi) we enjoyed beautiful views of the lake....

This is a great B&B! Comfortable, ideally located in a quiet neighbourhood with good access along the beach, and great hosts in Ken and Carol. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they helped with tours and local advice, prepared great breakfasts, and even offered us the use of the kitchen to cook our freshly caught trout! Definitely a great...

There is no better stay in Rotorua. Carol and Ken have made their place a real home from home. The lake really is at the end of the garden and the swimming off the beach was fantastic. We also made use of the kayaks - a real treat to just gently paddle along the lakeshore looking at the wildlife. Ken...
