We definitely wanted to be in the country atmosphere and be with animals and be with local hospitality. We were not disappointed. From the minute we drove up the beautiful driveway, we knew we picked the perfect spot. We were greeted by Christine and her beautiful home. She instantly made us feel welcomed. Honestly, I wanted to stay the day... More

Alreayd eight times I stayed at Doolan's country retreat and every time it's like coming home. Christine is a wonderful host and makes your stay unforgettable. The atmosphere is friendly and cosy and every morning you get a warm welcome of the donkeys. The garden and the view let you relax and calm down. Every morning she makes a delicious... More

Beautiful accommodation and surroundings. Convenient location about 15 min from Rotorua but close to the main highway (5). The lovely host Christine goes out of her way to ensure your stay is a pleasant one and that you see as much of the surrounding countryside and attractions as possible. Would definitely come again.

My 12-year-old daughter and I had a delightful--and too short--stay with Christine at this lovely B & B. The furnishings and linens were top-notch, and the bathroom looked like it had been recently updated to a sleek and modern design. We were the only guests that night, and Christine made us feel like family, watching the tele with her and... More

We stayed here on our car trip through North Island. We arrived at 1100 and were able to leave our luggage and freshen up before adventuring out into the area. Christine was delightful and full of good information and good humor! Our room was comfortable and bright ; the included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Christine was kind enough to... More

This was one of our top 6 B&B's in 3 weeks in NZ. Christine has an architecturally interesting great room, with windows for 270 degrees and a nice porch with views of the lake and mountains. Our room had a separate porch, and from inside one morning I saw a family of NZ grouse. Breakfast is terrific, with fresh dairy... More

We stayed here for two nights in what can only be called an oasis in the country 10 minutes from Rotorua. Christine the owner is so welcoming and you feel so at home after only a few minutes. The house is set in its own grounds on a hill overlooking the mountains and the lake in the distance. The house... More

Hubby and I stayed 3 nights at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Our hostess Christine was witty and fun and was keenly aware of making us feel comfortable. Her attention to hospitality detail and her gorgeous home with scenic views is definitely worth a return visit. Even her sweet neighbors jumped in to show is some lovely streams to fish.... More

This place was great. Loved the postcard setting and the tranquility of the venue. Christine is a wonderful lady. Attentive and always helpful I would recommend a longer bed for those of us on the taller side of the spectrum. To my taste a queen size is the minimum bed one should have The gardens and property are spectacular. And... More
