The room, the private bathroom (spacious and comfortable!) and the location to explore Wellington were great but hosts were even greater! Phil - great hosts, easy to communicate with and made arrival very smooth. Would recommend to anyone!

Carillion is like your great grand-mother's home. It's dated and it must have been a very stylish home in it's day. Great views all around, very clean, exceptionally quiet and only 15 mins walk along Cuba street to the CBD, it's definitely a functional place to stay. Philip was great and was a wealth of knowledge about everything. He was...

This is a budget lodge, and as such does not pretend to be what it is not. The location is great, within walking distance of all one wants to see and do in Wellington. The proprietor very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are obviously dated and could do with makeovers but if that was done there's no way you'd only...

An older historic hotel that has had some refurbishment, however our room was needing a bit of maintenance. The toilet cistern was coming away from the wall, tiles missing and the vanity half finished. But the worst part was the hairs all over the bathroom floor and one in the sink. It didn't look like the place had been well...

Thankyou for your review. Points have been noted and faults remedied. Has been a major project rejuvenating the place over the past few years but the majority completed. Most rooms have been refreshed. Rooms are serviced after 10am daily and we are sorry that the bathroom appears not have been completely done that day. Even though it is an older...

The Carillon Motor Inn is a beautiful old inn deep in history and full of character. Phil the proprietor of this fine establishment, is welcoming and helpful giving us his time to explain the history of the building and current culture of the vibrant city of Wellington. A lot of the guests are long stay students currently studying at the...

Thanks Angela for the review feedback. Fun times whilst your group was here and I am glad the wedding of your friends that you came for went off well. Good to get feedback from a large group like yours as we can do a package price to suit such as well as put an extra bed in some rooms to...

Very old villa which would have been a beauty in her time. We paid $100 for 1 night and I'm glad we didn't pay anymore. It badly needs a revamp, I'm sure the owner is aware but in the meantime just remember you're paying for budget accommodation in Wellington. Our room was reasonably clean, the bed comfortable, but there was...

Thankyou for your review kiakaha7. The historic Mansion was built in 1906 in the Victorian era and we try and preserve some of the ambience from that period. I can assure you that there are no ghosts lurking; perhaps our hall candlelights keep them away at night. Despite the age of the facility staff try hard to provide a clean,...

Thanks Sharlene and Charles for the comprehensive review of your stay here. We are glad you enjoyed it and the multi-national "smorgasbord" of meeting so many different nationalities that choose to stay at the Carillon. It is also good to read independent experiences of what good things our city has to offer other than just going to the the top...

Our arrival at this grand Victorian property was met by the owner, who (despite it being fairly late in the evening) gave us an informative and highly amusing description of the house and its history. A great character! The room itself had everything we needed and more. Although we booked a double we also had a separate single bed too....

Beautiful old house very close to Cuba Street, Phil runs the place and is gregarious, funny and informative. If you want a place to stay that is close to town and out of the ordinary, then this is for you!

It is a place with a lot of character run by Phil who has a lot of character, too. Don't miss to ask him about the history of the place. The rooms have a good size and I slept very well in two different rooms (I needed an extra, fourth night and Phil kindly helped me out). The rooms offered...
