A very good spot - a period house, tastefully furnished, in a convenient but quiet location only 5 mins from the centre of the city. The hosts are very well travelled and understand what visitors need to know, as well as going out of their way to be helpful (eg a short sightseeing drive around the city on arrival, driving...

The superb hosts looked after our every need and treated us like friends. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and pleasantly furnished with well stocked fridge etc. On top of this there were gourmet breakfasts and lots of help and advice with activities and transport. I can recommend Mount Victoria without any reservation.

Coral and Bill are outstanding hosts and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy the best of Wellington. Although we stayed in more luxurious accommodation during our 5-week tour of NZ, this B&B was one of the highlights. Coral took us on a short tour of Wellington when we arrived, and Bill dropped us off at the ferry...

Carol & Bill are very good hosts and Carol's breakfast cooking is excellent. My room was comfortable and the bath good. Central city views were poor for my room. However, I had a good time and Carol was very helpful with a message I had to do in hurry and came with me for guidance. I would definitely stay here...

This is a really hidden gem in the middle of Wellington. The rooms are small but immaculate and very comfortable beds. The hosts, Coral and Bill are the best part. They went out of their way to show us around the city and the lookout at the top of the city..We enjoyed drinks and "nibbles" for happy hour each evening...

On arrival at Bill and Coral's very central yet quiet B&B our car was parked in their garage and we were taken for a tour of the city and up Mt Victoria to get our bearings and enjoy the views. After a quick clean up it was then time for a glass of wine and some very tasty nibbles before...

What's to say about a B&B whose host insists on lending you his trench coat to deal with Wellington's rain? On taking you on a driving tour of the city to be sure you know where to find the restaurant she recommends, and offers to pick you up on your return from the South Island by ferry? Bill and Coral...

After spending a month in New Zealand staying at a dozen fine B&Bs, we felt that the most outstanding one was the Mt. Victoria Homestead in Wellington. Its hosts, Bill and Coral Aitchison, made us feel like old friends who were guests in their home. Initially, she gave us a tour of the city, including Mt. Victoria, and then each...

Probably the friendliest B&B we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world! Coral and Bill could not be more welcoming: a cream tea when we arrived; wine and snacks before we went out in the evening, but most staggering of all was Bill driving us to the airport at midnight when our taxi didn't turn up to meet our...
