Stayed for only one night but would have liked to stay longer. Leon is a friendly and very helpful motel owner. He helpfully called a cab for us on checkout and lent us a great big umbrella the night before which was useful when it started to rain on our way home. The room was also surprisingly big for a Studio. It was truly value for money and will consider returning the next time I am in Christchurch!

The good - the unit was physically clean and serviced daily. Reasonable price & within walking distance to town center ~ 20-30 minutes. Improvements - it was the smallest motell room we stayed in - yes city real estate is precious. The bed was a bit bouncy. However when the room has a smell it's hard to overcome. I tried for a different room but everything was full - so tried to ignore it. However the 2nd morning had definite sewer smell thru drain. Despite the cleanliness of the room, it's hard to overcome a smell like that. Would recommend elsewhere.

We stayed her for only one night as we transited across the South Island, and we were so glad to have chosen Centrepoint rather than an airport motel. The location is brilliant with only a short walk to central ChCh, and an equally short stroll to Victoria Street eateries. The room was very clean and comfortable, and well-equipped for breakfast preparation. It was also delightfully quiet for an inner city motel, having both double glazing and blackout curtains. We'd be very happy to stay here again.

We booked this hotel for two nights and two days before our travel our ferry crossing was cancelled. We rescheduled for a future date and contacted the hotel to request the new dates. After two failed calls, one where they said they would called back but did not do so, we received an email to say that we needed to pay for our original booking in full and they could accommodate us for the new nights but at a higher rate effectively charging us more than twice. We called and after a frustrating conversation we asked to speak with the manager. We were refused and the person hung up. Our experience feels very similar to captan10 above. I recommend choosing any hotel rather than this one. We had to reschedule 10 bookings across the Sth Island as a result of the ferry cancellation. This was the only one who behaved like this.

Nice and very clean hotel room. Small kitchen with microwave, toaster and kettle. Clean bathroom, towels and bed linen. Bed really comfortable. The heating system is working well. The host is extremely happy and helpful. We felt very welcome :-) It’s about 10 min walk to the center of Christchurch, and 1-5 min to the bus going to the airport.

My wife and I booked our room on Booking.com. We have booked 11 different properties for our NZ trip. Not one of the facilities gave us the run around this one did. We missed our flight thru no fault of our own. We called immediately to move our flights to different dates. We even told the hotel that we would be flexible based on what they had available., even if it meant an up charge for a different room. The person that answered the phone at the hotel said that they had availability to move our dates but he didn’t have the authority to do so. He told us his manager would need to do that. We asked when we could speak the manager and he said the following day. The following day when we called, we were told that the manager was not in. All this runaround resulted in our losing the two days entirely instead of just moving them to slightly later. I am floored that they flat out don’t care about customer service at all. Beware the rigidity and lack of focus on the customer.

We recently spent 3 nights at CentrePoint on Columbo Motel and were very pleased with the whole experience. The owners were very helpful, changing our accommodation to a ground floor unit, which was very well suited to us. The unit was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and clean towels supplied daily. The motel is within walking distance to the main centre, has good parking and security. We would recommend this hotel and intend to stay again on our future return to Christchurch. Thank you for a most enjoyable visit.

The wifi was excellent which was a relief as I needed to run an online meeting during my stay. The friendly welcome at reception, being taken to my room and shown key features such as how to operate heat pump, where to find things such as toaster was a helpful touch.

Stayed there for two nights with my teenage kids and felt discriminated against from the start. The manager was suspicious and we were always being watched and even found him in our room. I checked in first and my twin boys arrived later and the manager came to our room saying we had to go to the office and pay more because we had an extra person staying. That was fine. The next day the manager came to the room and asked when we would be leaving so he can clean it. We got back and found they’d only replaced one clean towel so I asked for 3 clean ones , I had to argue with the manager who accused us of stealing them. We also left and arrived back to find the manager in our room, when he saw the car outside he went upstairs and closed our window.. that was his excuse for snooping. He was definitely not in there just to close the window. Have travelled a lot and once the cleaners go in, that’s it. It made us feel veey uncomfortable and was just really weird. Funnily enough, after that he left us alone.
