Staff were super welcoming and very helpful with the check-in especially as I'd arrived slightly earlier than check-in time. Rooms were a decent size. Location is great - it's about a 10 minute walk to the centre / Botanic Gardens so didn't need to stress about trying to park in those locations. There were a couple of issues. First, not sure what the cleaning procedures are, but something had been left in the bed side draw and once I'd opened the draw, there was quite an unpleasant smell. I asked to move rooms and this was organised. This is not the Motel's fault. I had one of the rooms closest to the road. My stay was on a Saturday night and between the hours of 11pm-1am, there were car engines being revved noisily and definitely racing up and down the road. It was seriously noisy in the room. If I'd had one of the other rooms, which are located much further back from the road, this might not have caused a problem.

Great motel, good location & fantastic helpful and sweet host, Rose. We stayed at Admiral Hotel for 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. It’s very clean and nice rooms with everything you need; big kitchen with supplies, nice bed and great shower. The hotel is located near city center and only takes 10-15 minutes walk. But the best thing about this hotel is the owner Rose. She is the much loving women, who did everything in her power to let us have the best vacation ever! From we stepped into her motel we felt at home. And even her husband Terry, showed us great hospitality. We can’t thank them enough. All our best recommendations to Admiral Hotel!

The Admiral is located in a motel heavy strip in Bealey Ave in Christchurch and I would guess that this is in the middle of the pack quality-wise. We had a two bed unit and there was a mix of newly installed features (eg carpets, beds) and some very old features (eg a very old kitchen), but overall it was good value for money. Also, a special mention to the management (Rose) who was very flexible and understanding as our arrival date kept changing due to Cyclone Gabrielle and cancelled flights. In the end we were only there one night, but Rose waived the normal notice periods and only charged us for the one night we stayed.

A good location as you could walk to all the key attractions in Christchurch. The room was clean and comfortable. There were paid washing facilities but our clothes seemed to come out of the dryers quite wet. There is parking for one car per apartment which was useful. The manager was very kind and helpful and we would stay here again.

I stayed in cottage 2 with my family in early December. It was a spacious suite of rooms with a full kitchen, which was well-supplied. There was more than enough space for the four of us. We used the self-serve laundry, which was clean and convenient. Our host Rose was incredibly kind and accommodating. We asked for an hour extension to checkout, which was no extra cost. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed here with my family (3 kids under 5) for one night. Great motel - good value, huge room, kitchen with proper oven. Walking distance to Margaret Mahy playground which my kids love. The owner (or manager?) was exceptionally friendly / helpful / welcoming. Even offered us a high chair if we needed it.
