Awesome we loved our two day stay, haven't used room service but have used the Gym and the on site bar Staff are really friendly and helpful, Porter helped with luggage and Valet for the car was a big help We've found the hotel to be very Central for shopping and eating out, would definitely recommend the Heritage Christchurch Hotel....

Gorgeous old government building that has been wonderfully converted into beautiful accommodation. Beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything required to prepare meals in. Valet parking charges were a little steep and not properly communicated to us and service was a little underwhelming here but still a grand experience to stay here.

The Heritage Hotel, Christchurch is a splendid, historic, well managed hotel in the heart of the city and opposite the earthquake ruined cathedral. It is one of the most spacious you will find with large rooms and suites and similar large stairways, corridors and public rooms. Our suite was a two level affair with lounge, dinning area and kitchenette to...

Great historic hotel in a fantastic location with a neat little bar that has live music almost every night. What else could you ask for? Yes, the suits are two level and the beds are divine. The lap pool is cute and the gym has a punching bag! Enjoyed my stay there a lot!

This place was a surprise when we arrived. Walking into a small foyer with smiling faces greeting you, checked in efficiently, had our car valet parked and what a welcome sight our room was, a lovely two story apartment. Tall ceilings, long flowing curtains and plush fresh furniture and linen. Adding to that a washing machine and dryer. Staff are...

This hotel is absolute gold. For what you get, it's cheap. The beds are the comfiest I have ever slept in and that includes my own! Service is brilliant. Food is great. OGB bar is small and has a wonderful atmosphere. Really good craft beers. Excellent gins. I was here two weeks in a row due to an over night...

I was travelling around South Island in a family of 4 (adults) for 10 days - staying in a variety of different 'classes' of hotels. Christchurch was both the landing and departing city and I needed a nice hotel following an 11 hour flight. We spent 3 nights in this hotel and found it extremely comfortable. It is very well...

This is a great place to stay when in Christchurch. It's location is central, it's an easy walk to all downtown destinations, and the suites are wonderful. We heard no noise from either neighbors or the street. The suites are roomy and wonderfully appointed. The amenities are comprehensive, as are the appointments. Staff is helpful and sweet. Breakfasts are excellent,...

Classic car club weekend in and around Christchurch. Most of us, and our beloved chariots stayed at the Heritage Hotel. A most comfortable and satisfying place in which to spend time. The staff couldn't have been more obliging and the rooms and decor are top shelf. In all, highly recommended. Sincere thanks!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Christchurch is a long way from the Mediterranean - nevertheless, the opulence of an Italian High Renaissance Palazzo awaits you at the Heritage Christchurch. Designed by Joseph Clark Maddison and opened in 1913, the hotel is listed as a category one building on the Historic Places Trust Register, reflecting its status as a building of national significance. The hotel's grand design is fitting: after all, Christchurch is regarded as the Garden City, and is regarded internationally for its culture and refinement. ... more   less
