We stayed 2 nights and it was disappointing. The rooms are outdated and the Internet connection is a simply annoying. The connection is unreliable and you have always to login. The mattress is too soft and old. No heating in the room and it was too cold. Positive: cleanliness, near center, friendly staff. Negativ: breakfast basic, internet unreliable, overpriced with... My room had an amazing bath and was very clean and tidy, it was only a short work to a great selection of bars and restaurants and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. I will certainly be booking into Eliza's again.

After 2 wonderful weeks in the South Island we spent our last night at Eliza's Manor. What a great choice. We were shown to our Heritage room by the owner who offered a complimentary bottle of wine. When we told her we did not like Sauvignon Blanc she immediately offered Chardonnay. The room overlooking the front garden of the hotel... More

Last couple of nights in NZ, picked Eliza's due to location and the excellent reviews. Breakfast included is always a bonus and was good, what else do you need to say about breakfast. Book two nights thru booking .com or so I thought, once I was aware that I had booked 2 rooms for 1 nights I had contacted the... More

Perfect B and B. Wonderful heritage manor with comfortable bedrooms with ensuites, wonderful breakfasts ( worth staying here just for these!), and very helpful manager Cathryn Williams and assistant manager Carmen Everett. They were happpy to help with activity suggestions as well as provide assistance when one of our planned tours was cancelled at short notice. The manor is a... More

What can I say, beautiful boutique hotel filled with history. Location close to several decent restaraunts. And I have a story to tell about service: One day we had to be up ridiculously early to catch a train, and we new we wouldn't be getting the included breakfast because we were leaving before the cook even got to work. When... More

We stayed at Eliza's as part of a return trip to the City where we got married 25 years ago. Eliza's is a boutique hotel in the English Manor style - huge bed, big room, bay windows, lots of nice touches.

Drove into Christchurch on a very bleak Friday afternoon and was pleased with our accommodation. The building dates from the late 1800s and we staid in the Maids Room (11). Eliza's has changed ownership over the last couple of months but Cathryn has kept the traditions of the previous owners; nice and crunchy Anzac biscuits, teddy bear chocolates and free... More

We had a beautiful brunch here. gluten free was no problem. The menu was quite limited, but what we had was delicious.really nice coffee too. The staff were attentive and mindful of our needs. We were given a tour of the building afterwards which was really interesting. Nice to see old Christchurch buildings restored post earthquake.
