I had one night here, staying in a ground floor room. I wish i'd had longer there, as i really only used it as a place to bed down for the night. It was very quiet when i was there - i was in a ground floor room and the others near me weren't booked at that time so that helped, but i know there were people staying upstairs and i never heard them. Bedroom was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. My room came with a private bathroom which is obviously less convenient than an ensuite but you know that when you book, so definitely no complaints. A bathrobe is provided for popping between the room and the bathroom, and the bathroom is lockable too. Breakfast was great and the overall cost of the room inclusive of breakfast was very reasonable. Service was very good and the place was very clean and of course very well situated. I would definitely stay again.

Booked at Orari for an extended family trip; had 2 adjacent rooms both with ensuites, & very spacious with bay windows & sitting room areas. Orari is an historic house & while beautifully decorated feels as homely as your favourite slippers! Bonus is that breakfast is included in the very reasonable tariff, & was really lovely, served in the formal dining room. Orari is in a great location, opposite the Art Galley & just a block from the Museum & the Botanical Gardens & the river Avon. Also a block the other way into the CBD so we walked everywhere. The bonus was the staff who were so friendly & obliging. We definitely wouldn't stay anywhere else on future trips.

The bed and breakfast is in a grand old house which has beautiful decor, comfortable beds and lovely furniture. It has modern en suite bathrooms. Everything is clean, refined and understated making it the ideal place for an indulgent getaway. The location is a short stroll from the redeveloped part of the Christchurch CBD. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the elegant, cosy sitting room as much as we enjoyed our breakfast at the grand old colonial tables. Highly recommended

The B&B feels like it should be in a little town somewhere not in the middle of Christchurch which is what we loved about it. The building has lots of character and the room was nice. It is in a great location to explore Christchurch and a nice breakfast was included. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. The only downside was that the bed was a bit hard but everything else was great.

From the ambience of the elegant old home, to the great service and fabulous breakfast, this was a great base for our extended family over last weekend while we all attended a family wedding. Comfortable and spotlessly clean, the roominess of the old mansion, the superb central, but quiet, location, and the accommodating staff made this a very pleasant stay for us all. Thank you to Jill and all the staff. Thoroughly recommended.
