Very central, clean rooms, good service, we didn’t like the view from our window they were very happy to accommodate and help relocation to a better room for us. Very friendly service stored bags until room was ready. Although not a lot to do in this area so 2 nights were plenty for us as we were moving on traveling towards queenstown.
These apartments are literally in a junction - where the trams come rattling in. It's charming and not at all noisy. We had a rather bland but comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. The staff were helpful in getting us oriented to Christchurch and we had a pleasant stay.
A tale of 2 parts: arrival, first night and first room; change of room and four nights. We arrive at 20.30 with bags etc. Door was locked and no staff on reception. Phone call to central HQ somewhere to be let in. We then got code to safe with envelope containing info about room and room key. Required to go down to basement in one lift, walk across the dark underground car park, find another lift to go up to room. Find our one bed apartment- room 110 - quite spacious. Very claustrophobic. On a dark corridor, very hot, floor standing air con, bedroom has no window and apartment faces, and is pretty much enclosed by, structure that holds tram stop 1 with cafes. That is the view. No view. No airflow in the room and limited/ little natural light. Phone HQ explain our displeasure nothing can be done until following morning. There is noise from the tram as it starts in the morning and spot lights flood into the room from the tram stop/cafe area opposite. Awful The following morning we are moved without fuss to room 610A. Another, smaller, one bed apartment with pretty much all you need - fridge, washer/dryer, fish washer, 2 jobs ( no oven), iron and ironing board. This is in a high floor. The corridor is brighter with windows and the room has a sort of view over part of the city. We now look down upon the tram stop/cafe area. We also look across into other apartments. But it’s brighter and better. The bedroom still has no window. There is some noise from the tram and cafe area but nothing to really worry us. The staff in the hotel were uniformly excellent, helpful and pleasant. It’s just that they’re not there between 22.00 & 08.00. The hotel is central but so are lots of other central hotels. So if you choose this hotel then arrive before 20.00 and choose a high floor or accept the consequences. We would not return.…
Very convenient location right next to the tram - make sure you use the tram for a circuit of the city Apartment was new and clean with plenty of space - I would use it again Cafe in tram stop is good as well
Stayed four nights at this hotel which has a great location and within walking distance to most attractions and restaurants. Check in was good and paid parking plentiful. Unfortunately, the lift was not working on our arrival so we had to leave our luggage in our car and walk up to the third floor. The hotel is dated and grubby as was our room. There was a trolley of dirty towels and linen left in the hallway for over 24 hours during our visit, this is unacceptable! The bed was comfortable but the bathroom towels were very thin. One day we returned to our room at 4.00pm and the room was not made up. I understand the vacated rooms are made up first but after a full day of sightseeing, it would be good to return to a tidied room. I have stayed at various Quest hotels in Australia as I am a member but this is by far the worst. As such, I could not recommend this hotel to other travellers.…
We stayed two single nights - at the beginning and end of a trip. Pluses: - very well located - comfortable Negatives - after hours check-in was a bit challenging. You are told to press an intercom from outside the building, which connects you to a call centre where we were left on hold for a while. Once someone answered, they couldn’t find our booking (even though I had phoned a few hours earlier to confirm) so wouldn’t let us into the reception area. They said they’d call the after hours manager for us but we waited quite a while with no sign of any action. Luckily some other guests were coming through and let us into the reception area where I called the duty manager directly (thanks to a sign on the desk). We then waited for that person to arrive who was very apologetic about the mix up and gave us our room key. But we had to go down again in the morning to complete the checkin process - the next morning, we had to leave before 5am and in our early morning rush and not being fully awake; forgot to drop the room key into the after hours check out box. As soon as the office opened, I called and spoke to someone there about our error and offered to post the room swipe card back to them. But within a few hours, I received an email saying they had already charged out debit card a $30 fine for failing to return it…
My husband and I stayed here for one night on our arrival in Christchurch, before heading off on a driving trip around NZ. Our room was very spacious and clean, and in a good central location. We had a comfortable living space, kitchen area, and separate bedroom. We did find the bedroom got a bit stuffy, but moving a fan in there helped. Everything was very clean, and the staff were really efficient and friendly. A good value place to stay.
Centrally located. Spacious apartment within walking distance to everything. Clean and comfortable, staff are friendly and it is good value. WiFi works well. A little dated with furniture and carpet but all in all an enjoyable stay. Would stay again.
Great place to stay and had everything we needed. The service was excellent and the location is perfect …walking distance to everything. The front desk were so helpful and responded to any request with a smile.
King size bed and good pillows but small tv. This was supposed to be an apartment but no kitchen, only microwave/toaster/kettle and small fridge, wash the cups etc in the bathroom sink, and no balcony. Also no in room safe. Parking is an extra $18 a day, come and go as you please. Position is great and within walking distance to any attraction in Christchurch with the tram station next to the front door. Washing machine and dryer provided on ground floor for all guests. Value for money is good.
