Very nice old home with fascinating history and pedigree, gorgeous sun room overlooking a secret garden. We stayed in a very nice large room with plenty of windows overlooking the bay, the softest most comfortable bed I've ever sunk in to. Very nice informative hostess. Good location for getting down town or seeing the sights.

Booking a Bed and Breakfast can be risky business if you are picky about privacy or you would prefer to cook your own meals, but if you are the kind of traveller that likes the comfort of knowing that someone else is looking after you, then a B&B is ideal. Deacons Court is hosted by Jo, truly the nicest, warmest...

Indicative of the architecture of Dunedin as a whole this lovely large wood-frame Victorian house provides excellent accommodation. We stayed in the front room on the ground floor, what would originally have been the parlour with its very high ceilings and decorative moldings. Breakfast is an exceptional treat in the setting of the conservatory with its adjoining rose garden accompanied...

We have just spend 3 nights at the warm, hospitable Deacons Court BnB in Dunedin. Only 5 mins good walk from the city, this establishment is a great find. The owner Jo, made us feel so welcome and showed us through her home. We had a large spacious room with a queen bed, with an ensuite bathroom with all the...

The room was spacious and homely with a historical feel. The back garden was charming and lounge area was cosy and warm, a good escape from the chilly weather. The hosts were the real standouts during our visit. Having arrived from an amazing ride on a rental motorcycle, we encountered a mechanical problem with the bike that threaten the reminder...

A heritage building and a wonderful host, Jo Vallis made our stay a memorable one! The house with high ceilings and very well maintained is very central and within walking distance to the City Centre. Jo is a very gregarious person full of life and information, ever willing to assist!

Probably the last available accommodation on the weekend of the All Blacks test against the Wallabies when we booked. What a lovely surprise to be greeted by Ella and made feel very welcome in this beautiful home. Our en suite room was roomy and comfortable. Breakfast in the dining room/solarium was great. Had forgotten what it was like to arrive...

I actually came upon this B&B by default. I wanted a hotel room in town close to the Intercity bus stop. However, even though my hotel search started 5 months before my trip, every place in the city was booked solid. Apparently, there was a huge cricket match in town during my stay and there were no rooms to be...

Holly and Robyn are lovely hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and give us all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were delicious. Our room was huge but gloomy (despite two large windows overlooking the street) and poorly laid out with functional furniture. The bed was comfortable but the...

“Two of the rooms have ensuites, the large King sized room, although uses the bathroom across the Hall (only shares with a room with 2 singles, but our daughter stayed in that one) has the advantage of opening onto the conservatory, so if you are the only ones staying it is very lavish.”
