Good price for Queenstown and being a few minutes' walk from the centre is was close enough without being noisy. Room was a little dated but then most places are compared to the UK. We had a ground floor room with a parking space right outside so that was good. Some of the staff were helpful while others were less...

Arrived here did not expect the Hilton but was clean and very adequate. Couldn't hear much from town given how close it was. Had room near the front and could hear everyone moving upstairs but that's about all. Location was great just above shotover street and close to four square market in town Centre. I would stay again. 1gb wifi...

(Please note that this review is based on my stay in Feb 2014.) After a night in the noisy hostel in town, I had to find another place. Without any reservations, I was fortunate to find this place. It's a bit dated, but it's clean and quiet, which is exactly what I needed. There were too many activities and restaurants...

If you want a reasonably priced motel room in a relatively quiet position within 5 minutes stroll of just about all Central Queenstown attractions this accommodation should fit the bill. No secluded balconies or stunning lake views but we didn't expect these facilities for the price. Peak season when we visited but no disturbed sleep despite being only 400m from...

The location is very good, everything is in walking distance. The room was a good size and the kitchen was big enough. Downside: our room was room 9 and there was a stair just next to our window which the other guests used to get up their room and everybody could look through our window (and everybody did because that's...

We stayed at Amber Lodge to do the Routeburn Track. We had a 2-bdrm with a queen & 3 singles. Clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need to self-cater. No Sky, but 1Gb Wi-Fi. 5 mins walk to town, and only 2 mins walk to the local grocery store. Water pressure in the shower is awesome. Road noise is...

We recently stayed at Amber Lodge before and after walking the Greenstone. The location couldn't have been more perfect, just a few minutes walk away to anything you might need to do / see / enjoy in QT. The accommodation - one and two bedroom self-contained apartments - was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, functional, and had everything we needed, including...

Studio was perfectly adequate. Never going to set the world on fire but it was clean and the location is perfect for towns facilities. Staff were all friendly and were more than willing to help. If you want budget accommodation you can't go wrong. Just don't expect the earth.

My wife and I obviously got a different unit to those depicted by Amber Lodge. Our "self-catering" area was jammed at the end of the bed which was our only seating! We had a barren side entrance with no view. Saved by the great location as we could walk everywhere.
