This was our first trip to Matakauri and our first trip to New Zealand. i can't imagine a more relaxing place Our room (number4 near the main lodge) was perfect. Clean and fully stocked with wonderful bedding, towels and also a fridge that offered sodas and juice for free. They have a gas fireplace in the room which is so...

I have stayed at Le Sirenuse, Splendido, villa d est , etc. never had a more enjoyable time than our recent stay at MatAkauri. The staff made you feel like family, especially Ann Charlotte. Our room was first class, even water by the bed at nite. The meals were spectacular, even prepared our fish we caught that day. Just walking...

This place is absolute magic, nestled away on the hillside over looking the lake but only a 5 min drive from the main town. The staff just cannot do enough. We staying half board and the nightly tasting menus are superb. Room 3 is your only private apartment with magnificent lounge and private terrace.

You arrive at Matakauri Lodge and are immediately spellbound by its' views. On a sunny day this is heaven. The Lodge deserves its many accolades. It is unstuffy, not pretentious at all and the service is impeccable. The GM Emanuel is a down to earth, and incredibly likeable, little wonder the rest of the team are superb. The rooms are...

The views are spectacular and the rooms are nice. One of the best places in Queenstown to stay. The staff are very young and very sweet but not as trained as the other two sister properties of The Farm at Cape Kidnappers or Kauri Cliffs. The food was not as good either. With a little fine tuning, it could be...

This was our last leg of our 3 week trip in NZ. No better way to relax and be pampered before the journey home. The lodge is about 5 miles outside of Queenstown convenient enough if you want to go to downtown or Arrowtown or any of the activities in the area. We choose to just relax and use the...

Staying at the Matakauri Lodge is not inexpensive, but if you can afford this luxury lodge, then you will not be disappointed. The lodge is very special. Our room was gorgeous with spectacular views, a beautiful patio, huge bathroom and very nice gas fireplace. The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated with fine towels and linens. Our room was pristine...

Amazing view, wonderful food and lovely staff helped make this a perfect stay. Loved our suite which was very spacious and beautifully decorated, and the view cannot disappoint with the lounge area & bathroom having uninterrupted views across the lake. The highlight for us however were the dinners. Amazing 5 course tasting menus with matching wines, specially chosen by the...
