The hostel was very busy at the end of the day and it was a challenge to find a parking spot and to get registered. The rooms were very basic and did not have private bathrooms. The hostel has a large kitchen, dining area that is very accessible and a lounge that is busy in the evenings but comfortable, Very...

Definately and "urban" hostel - like most in Queenstown - busy with loads of guests. Staff helpful and efficient reception. Has a couple of single rooms, both of which I used over the three seperate stays I had here. Rooms were good in terms of size and comfort, and at $70 / night good value. Hostel is built onto hillside...

We stayed one night here in April. We were lucky enough to have one of two rooms with a balcony overlooking the lake. The room wasnt overly clean - there was a lovely family of spiders above the sliding door. The room came with towels which was a nice touch. Our room was smaller than similar ones in other YHA...

I think this is the best affordable place to stay in Queenstown. The kitchen facilities are excellent. Many of the buses stop right outside. The bedding and towels provided were very clean. My only complaint would be that the walls between rooms are quite thin.

It's just a few minutes walk along the lake front to get to the YHA and it's the quiet location that makes this a great place to stay, along with it's helpful, friendly staff. The kitchen facilities are good but at peak times very busy and finding a free locker or fridge space is a challenge on day one. The...

A good hostel with a great view across the lake. I stayed in the 6 bed dorm. Decent beds, bathrooms and cupboards to put your gear. Sofas to relax on and wifi was generally ok. Not sure the new bath mats system works, there were only used ones every time I took a shower. The only other gripe is that...

There are two YHAs in Queenstown - one located right in the heart of downtown, and the other a little stroll along the Esplanade. It is a short walk to downtown, so it was not as bad as we initially feared. For those who don't like the hustle and bustle, it may be a better bet than the Central YHA....

My friend came over to New Zealand then we stayed in here. Local is very good, stunning view in front of this backpackers. We can sleep without noise because it is located a little away from main town. Of course we can walk to the town easily. Cleanliness is awesome, facilities are also new, free wifi. We had a really...

This hostel is amazing, very clean and tidy, is a bit expensive (but no so expensive compared with the other accommodation in Queenstown), the staff is very friendly, especially André, he is the coolest recepcionist that I have met, rise his salary please!. Also someone "borrow" a plate with food from the fridge but the recepcionsts look through the cameras.

This recently-renovated YHA is a really good place to stay. New bathrooms, spacious well-equipped kitchen that didn't seem crowded at any time, despite nearly full capacity in the hostel. My room was small but very comfortable. Good storage room, laundry, and friendly, willing staff at reception.
