Overall a nice hotel, good location and helpful staff - but a paid Wi-Fi service is truly below par for what is quoted as a 5 star hotel. It's also somewhat inconvenient as an international visitor. Other neighbourning properties offer the same services plus free Wi-Fi for less money. It's not luxury accomodation without basic Wi-Fi in 2017...

Our family of 5 stayed at 2-bedroom lakeview apartment for 4 nights in December 2016. The view was prefect. The apartment size was prefect. Had everything that we needed in the apartment including a good washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, strong shower, daily cleaning etc.. Breakfast was not so great. Very little choice. Quite expensive for what it was. We...

We could hear every word of the conversation in the room next to us. We asked to be changed to a room that wouldn't have this issue and were told all rooms were like that. Never again. Would not pay that money again to feel like you are in a cheap motel.

Excellent location, good room size, no wi-fi, almost uniquely throughout South Island. Breakfast either cooked or continental was good without being exceptional. Great to have boiling water at breakfast. Our fridge (a bit old) was noisy all night. I found out it was turned down too cold.

What a great spot to enjoy New Year. My wife, my daughter and I stayed at Peppers for a week over New Year. We had booked a 2 B/R lake view apartment for 6 nights, we wanted a view of the fireworks and the lake while staying close to town. We were exceptionally happy with our choice. The apartment was...

Attention to detail was poor. Room rather tied looking. We will come back in June though. As the deposit has already been paid. Management went some way of appeasing us by up grading us to another level which was appreciated when we return. Pepper's Becon isn't a touch on Peppers on the point in Rotorua. We gave that a 9.9...

Excellent views from room. Had a nice comfortable feel. Ideal for families with teenager children. In a good location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful.

The view from our two bedroom apartment was stunning. We sat outside late every afternoon just looking at it pretending to read. Rooms were large and well equipped for 2 adults and 2 kids, and the included buffet breakfast was small but good. Property was a 5 minute walk to steamer wharf and 10 minutes to everything else so no...

Thank you Linda for your honest review of your recent stay at Peppers Beacon...so nice to receive. I hope you managed to get some reading done while on the balcony, but I can understand how the view can be a significant distraction...happens to everyone! Your point about the wifi is something we hope to have addressed in the coming weeks,...

Stayed in one of their 2 bedroom apartments with the family. It was such a serendipitous experience, every day when we'd return from our excursions there would be a new surprise. One day it was a well enjoyed bottle of fine wine, another day it was freshly baked bread in a bread oven, still warm so the whole apartment was...

What you see is what you get with this hotel. Rooms are nice with all the mod cons expected of a 4* hotel breakfast is plentiful and tasty, definitely worth adding to the booking. Thank you Ben, We appreciate your comments and it's pleasing to read that everything lived up to your expectation and our reputation at Peppers Beacon, except the complimentary wifi. We are working on a solution for free wifi at the hotel, which I know will be welcomed by most of our guests. We look forward to to welcoming you back...
