This is the first review I've ever given of a hotel or backpackers and after having travelled for three and a half years that's quite a few! But I feel that Bob and Maxines was deserving of a review, I have stayed here multiple times whilst working in Fiordland and cannot fault if in any way. It has everything you...

We arrived to a warm welcome from the very affable Bob And Maxine. Bob showed us around and introduced us to other guests. We stayed in the House in a double bedroom - very comfortable. The Backpackers Lodge had a huge common room with good views of the surrounding mountains. Facilities were excellent and the slow combustion fire kept the...

Very confortable and clean backpacker accomodation in Te Anau. Bob and Maxine are very pleasant hosts and the place has all the amenities you need and a quite fantastic views on the surrounding mountains. The only downside is that the shutting door's sound could be annoying when the other guests are not carfeful.

I stayed at the hostel for 6 nights totally. It's hard to explain how much this place has a warm and happy athmosphire. The rooms are comftrable, Bob and Maxime are friendly and helped me with my tracks, the hostel is clean and offers a lot of free spices and fruits. Don't miss it!

This is a phenomenal place to stay. So much is included with the price!! Free, unlimited wi fi, free bike hire, free laundry, free tea and coffee, and every day Maxine buys fresh fruit to put out on the table in the kitchen. The kitchen is spacious, with herbs and cooking oil included, and there is a big cozy fireplace...

New facilities, indoor fireplace, tons of couches, tables, movies and games. The kitchen has everything you need including free fruit and it was super clean!

My wife and I stayed in one of Bob and Maxine's two private rooms, very comfortable. We most enjoyed eating breakfast and evening wine in the common room in the building where the dorm type rooms are located. Met a range of people of a range of ages from China, Germany, Holland, and Israel. All great people enjoying the National...

Nice rooms. Too little/few showers and toilets. Big and nice common area. Great views of the surrounding mountains and lamas right on the meadow next to the house. Lots of possibilitiesto sit outside. Very well equipped kitchen (with oil, flour backing paper etc). Hosts are friendly but a bit chatty.

My stay at Bob and Maxine's has been one of the best backpacker experiences that I've had to date. Prior to arrival, Bob was very responsive by email in setting up my booking and pick-up from the bus stop in Te Anau. Once I arrived at the hostel, he provided me with an overview to all the amenities and introduced...

I stayed 4 nights at Bob and Maxine's backpackers and it's definitely the best hostel I've stayed at so far in NZ. Both Bob and Maxine are lovely people and they will make you feel welcome as soon as you enter their backpackers. I liked the fact that it's located a bit outside town (it's still walking distance and they...
