The Fiordland Hotel convinced us because of its low rates, and we think it was a good choice. The hotel rooms are very simple, but quite spacious and clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming, and provided us with lots of useful information on the area. The hotel offers a coin laundry with dryers, open till 10pm, excellent...

The rooms are basic and a little tired, but Fiordland Hotel/Motel is saved by a nice common area, a spa and a pool. There are common kitchen facilities which do the job but can get busy in the evenings. Not a bad place to crash for a night or two but dont expect much.

Not overly fussed with the man at the front desk on check in, we found him a bit arrogant and rude. The room was clean but outdated with a terrible bed. This place would be great if it was half the price, but the amount that is being charged we expected alot more. Oh and it smelt funny!!!

One night stay. Hotel could do with a definite make over. Room was large, floor coverings poor, inside the room was clean. Bathroom was passable and very average but I did have hot water - unlike some other reviews. Wifi hopeless. Went to get a bowl to have my muesli in for breakfast, no bowls so had to use a...

Had two nights here and that was two nights to long. Wifi not good. No hot water and reception shuts at 9pm. Rooms are basic clean and large. Parking easy but it is on the edge of town so a walk or quick drive into town for meals.

Old place, gardens in need of tidy up. Staff were friendly. First hotel room we were in smelled like someone had thrown up so were moved to motel unit. This was in much better condition and clean. Location average as it was just as you come into town, rather than waterfront but ok.

I've stayed in some dodgy motels in the past so maybe my standards are pretty low but this place was great for the one night we stayed. Rooms were clean and while definitely not "modern" I much prefer a clean room to a pretty one. The bed was comfy and the shower hot (though water pressure leaves much to be...

We have stayed here for two nights. Have paid $180 per night. Rooms are old and disgusting. The coffee/ tea supply are insufficient. The carpert is sticky and detached from the underlay and rolledup. Worse than all , if you want to have a shower in the morning it is freezing cold after 7 am as a lot of people...

Not sure why my experience differed from other travelers but our room was updated and clean - perhaps a different section of the motel? In any case we rather enjoyed our stay despite the patchy wifi, and it was a good base for us to explore Milford Sound.

The hotel does not look like the pictures in the listing. The rooms were simple but clean and adequate for our 2 night stay. The views from our room were nice. The hotel looks run down on the outside as well as in the hotel itself, it appears they have done up the rooms at some point but that's it....
