We arrived just around 6pm and were greeted by Margaret. She showed us to our room which was just outside the Office and not off the 'sunroom' as many rooms were. The room didn't have a fridge but there was a communal one in the 'sunroom' where we could leave our water. We couldn't fill our bottles from the tap...

Finally a real bed and breakfast, with a comfortable bed, a cosy room furnished with taste, and an unforgettable breakfast. In this place you feel lucky and welcome, you are at home with an old friend.

What a lovely place. Very quiet location and a great place to relax after a hike or long drive. The hosts were so helpful and nice. Breaky was yum. Really enjoyed our stay. Clean, tidy and great price.

My husband and I booked this accomodation for 2 nights before we left our home in Australia and were really looking forward to our stay here. We arrived to be greeted by Barbara - the Manager, who it appeared we had disturbed from a sleep & quite put out by us arriving - it was 5pm as arranged. Our room...

Wonderful host and a great full breakfast. Location is a short walk to the lake and to the center of town. We were there twice in two different rooms. Both were clean and comfortable. Nice enclosed sun porch for reading and relaxing

Spent 1 night at the Shakespeare b&b and had a great time. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet to sleep in. Ray cooked us a delicious hot breakfast in the morning before heading off to Milford Sound!

Older but updated and very clean. We took a twin room that was very spacious and had a king and a large single bed. The bed was more comfortable than average and the ensuite clean and modern. Best shower that I have had in any B&B ever, strong and hot. There were plenty of soft pillows as well as spare...

We spent two nights at Shakespeare House. This is more motel than B&B with a number of rooms along a corridor/common area. The room itself is comfortable but basic. Ray, the host, is great. He is friendly and helpful and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. The breakfast offers a good selection including bacon, omelets...

My partner and I spent one night here and we're very impressed all round. Ray was an excellent host, who gave us great recommendations on the area. The room was very comfortable, and the location was great, short walk to town along the very scenic lake. When we left the next morning for Dunedin we decided not to stay for...

Ray was the perfect host. Thank you so much, Ray! I had arrived in NZ a few days earlier exhausted and stressed. The Shakespeare House motel provided the perfect 'retreat'. After a day trip to beautiful Doubtful Sound, Ray greeted me with genuine friendliness and very organized. He showed me to my lovely, clean and nicely organized room and had...
