Hi guys, Great hostel and location! Only the receptionist Sarah was very unfriendly! I couldn't find my key directly and all she kept saying was you need to pay, what's your name, you need to pay, what's your name on and on..! Not even a friendly smile or even asking how my stay was. I was like chill relax the...

Laid back, tidy, quiet hostel. Great central location a stones throw from cafes and beaches. Perfect for surfers who want a quiet night to crash after a day out in the surf. Simple but well maintained dormitory rooms and shared kitchen facilities. Appropriate for all ages.

We missed our bus and checked in at YHA Newcastle for the night. It was a perfect location and the common area was huge and had billiards, ping pong, chess, movies, and really comfy couches. We ended up finding another bus to Byron Bay and had to cancel our booking with YHA. Damien (at the front desk) was so helpful...

The location of the old building is close to the local surf beaches, car parking between 17:00 - 09:00 is free, during the day you should move your car to one of the local free car parking areas. The building itself is an old one in english style, rooms where big with a lots of space. The place is ok...

We got in quite late but someone had already emailed us the code to get in and the guy who greeted us was really friendly and helpful. The rooms are fairly dated and could do with a makeover, however all areas were clean and the showers were great. The common room was really nice and if we had stayed longer...

Lovely big clean common area with comity sofas and wifi. good bathroom / showers upstairs. Felt safe and clean. Free surfboards and body boards for hire. NEGATIVES: wifi didn't...

$4/Hour to park your car, windows that face onto the street that gets EXTREMELY noisy with drunks, people arguing and slamming doors in the corridors and yelling and swearing and just when you get back to sleep, the guy comes back and tries to serenade the woman he fought with. 7am garbage truck outside the windows. The bunk beds are...

This hostel is clearly in an old building and I understand that due to this some facilities cannot be applied. The rooms were extremely hot, only offering one fan between four people. The reception area seemed to be a mess and unorganised. The toilets were filthy all the time (use the disabled one around the corner) the kitchen facilities were...
