Stayed there for one night while traveling up the east coast. Lovely lady with lovely dog. She picked me up from the bus station in a thunder storm what was really nice of her a lot of hostels I stayed in wouldn't do that. The room I stayed in was clean and tidy, the common room looked big and clean...

Stayed here for one night while passing through on my way up the coast. Lovely lady on the front desk was more than helpful and makes you feel very welcome. I wasn't there long enough to get a property feel for the place but overall I felt very comfortable and looked after. Lovely pool area, hammocks and outside seating area....

I only stayed for one night but actually would have loved to stay longer. The owner was just so lovely and the place so homely with great people that it was super inviting. The hostel consists of several buildings and has a vintage charm to it with its wooden exterior but with stuccos on the ceilings inside. Even the bathroom...

Hostel was ok, had a pool, tv room and free shuttle. The owner was friendly and had a lovely dog called Larry. The rooms and bathroom are in desperate need of a refurbish. There is not enough hobs in the kitchen area and not enough toilets.

I was robbed while staying here. $200 worth of belongings stolen from a locked bedroom. Security is very poor. Staff were apologetic but unable to help with matter. Told me to basically be more careful in future. I can't recommend staying here.

This hostel really makes you feel like you're at home! The staff are very accommodating and give you a map and a run down of what to do in Newcastle as well as a tour of the hostel when checking in. Anna & Mama Shar treat you as if you're one of their own. The room I stayed in was...

We arrived at the hostel, intending to stay for just one night. The plan was then to go up to Port Stephens and do a dolphin swimming experience. It turned out that planning is not my strong suit. The experience begins at 5.30am, and the wonderful owner, Anna, informed us that there was no way we would get there in...

Stayed in this hostel with some friends on the 2 of the 3 nights we were in Newcastle... not the best hostel experience for travellers based on the noise and the distance for everything except a supermarket. Staff were friendly and helpful though but wouldn't recommend as a place to stay. There are better places in East Newcastle (near the...

Me and my partner stayed here for a few days about two weeks ago when we first arrived to Newcastle. We googled a hostel for one night and we picked this one by chance, boy were we glad we stumbled on this place. Upon making our booking on the train, the woman who runs the place informed us she would...
