Just perfect! This four bedrooms hotel was a total surprise for us. Cute and welcoming! Comfortable bed, very clean, quiet and the location couldn't be better. It has a "happy hour" ; a glass of wine or beer with crackers and cheese served from the lovely hostess/owner and same thing for the classy breakfast. The owners are very welcoming, helpful...

We had two nights here to catch up with family before continuing our train journey up the coast. What a relief to stay in a Cool, clean, quiet, convenient and friendly (but not at all intrusive) hotel (and providing and good breakfast menu) as Chaucer Palms. Frightfully hot time of the year but the A/C and enormous spa tub was...

Our room had a lovely view of the surrounding streetscape. The room was well appointed and was very comfortable. Breakfast was generous and special dietary needs were met after a discussion with the hosts.Quiet area . Walked to the local area for restaurants and bars. Adjacent park was lovely for a quiet stroll.

A really liked this small, stylish B&B. I had a sunny balcony and good sized room with a spa bath. Very easy location without a car - short walk to cafes and within the free bus zone for CBD and beach. And the catering was really good!

Within a 3 minute walk to the main street of Hamilton with plenty of eateries and a 10-15 drive to Newcastle CBD this establishment is very well appointed and clean. With wine, cheese and biscuits of an evening and breakfast in the morning and tea and coffee facilities in the dining room it made for a most pleasant stay. Plenty...

Jules and Peter were absolutely lovely from the moment we stepped into the property. They were always willing to go the extra mile for us. The breakfast options were fantastic and the rooms were classy and pristine.

Stayed at this lovely B&B for a night and will definitely stay again. Spotlessly clean and a fantastic spa bath. Only a minutes walk to all the restaurants on Beaumont St and the hosts were very welcoming.

We decided on a spur of the moment night away. We got a very pleasant surprise on check in with a great sized room with all you need close by. Just a 2 minute walk to the Main Street of Hamilton, dinner was easily sorted. We were greeted by our lovely host Julie and offered beer, wine, juice, cheese and...

Handy to Beaumont St, Gregson Park and to public transport, this small oasis is a real gem. The entrance is through the shared living/breakfast area which has limited kitchenette facilities, to the stairs up to the rooms. There is one guest room off this communal area which, according to the guest that I spoke with, is unlikely to be disturbed...

Overall I would thoroughly recommend Chaucer Palms for couples weekending away or business travellers in Newcastle more than one night wanting a more homely feel. The room was beautifully fitted out and also the bathroom - every feature had been well thought through. We stayed here before hot air ballooning in the Hunter Valley. Location was good. We had booked...
