Such a gorgeous place to stay. Accommodation was beautiful, the wine was amazing and staff were incredibly helpful. Waking up to the beautiful view from our room was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely be back.

I stayed at Truffle Cottage with 3 girlfriends, there were 3 bedrooms, third room had 2 single beds, was quite small, more suited to children. It was mid winter and we saw snow, beautiful wood fire, plenty of wood delivered daily. A RC unit and extra room heaters kept us very warm. Only downfall was no view from the big picture windows out to the deck. (Hedged yard). No WOW factor either as indicated by the advertised photo. Perfect for a base camp to visit the wineries, lots of. Gaye was very helpful and attentive and we loved our meal from the restaurant - delivered to the door.

I have stayed in the cottages on Borrodell Estate three times and love them. They are quiet and private and both have beautiful views across fields and vineyards. You can feel the city stress melt away just looking out the windows. Kangaroos are a common sight as are king parrots, rozellas, lorikeets and myriad other birds. The cottages are comfortable and homely with big kitchens, good sized bedrooms and lounge/dining areas, separate laundry and a third shower/toilet if needed. The heating is pretty good and the wood burner adds heat and ambience. I have only two small gripes - the curtaining in the main bedroom at Chardonnay could be better. The cottage may be out in the middle of a field, but most people like a sense of privacy in the bedroom, I think. And the wood burners could do with a service. I will definitely be back (and have already booked).

We booked Chardonnay Cottage and were so disappointed with the state of the cottage. The whole place was so run down and need of a total renovation. There was no wood for the combustion heater. There was no where to put our bags and the so called walk in wardrobe shelves were full of bed linen and other things. There were only flimsy curtains on the bedroom windows so no privacy and as soon as the sun came up it was broad daylight in the room. The outside deck and table was dirty. We wanted to eat at the restaurant but were informed that they had a private function. Won't be rushing back there!!

The only negative about this property is that it is so popular that it is difficult to get a reservation. It was wonderful watching the kangaroos bounding around at dusk and if you want to get up early you can watch them again. The fridge was well stocked for a leisurely breakfast before heading off and thinking about returning. Congratulations to Gaye for all her good work. A real 5 star resort.
