Travelled to the hunter wine region for a Few days - nice country style accommodation - nothing luxurious just good clean country accommodation. But very lovely hosts - they seemed new to the region but nonetheless enthusiastic. Location is good and close to a few good wineries - We tried the newly opened Thomas wines and it was well worth...

Owners are super friendly and will help you figure out what you want to see in the time available and help with restaurant booking. Wine and snacks in room are a nice touch. We have just had a fabulous stay at Splinters with a lovely warm welcome from Mark and Pup. We are on our extended honeymoon and they could not have done more to make us feel special and welcomed. We took their advice on a local restaurant (see review of Spicers) and were not disappointed. The rooms and ensuite shower rooms...

Having stayed here in March 2015 under previous owners, the cottage was as we remembered it and it was great to have the essentials in the fridge left for us. Mark and Pup are very helpful although they left us to our own devices for our one night stay with was great as after a half day wine tour we...

We stayed at Splinters for three nights. It was ideal accommodation for a wine tasting venture. Pup and Mark were very helpful, the property was beautifully presented and nothing was too much trouble. After days of wine tasting and restaurant visiting it was nice to relax 'at home' at night with a light meal utilising the BBQ and Pup and...

Nothing was too much trouble for Pup (Mark was away fishing so we did not get to meet him). We were made to feel like special guests. The accommodation and grounds are beautiful. A lovely stay. While we had only a short stay we would recommend splinters to anyone visiting the hunter valley.

First time visitors to the Hunter, we wanted somewhere welcoming and cosy and that's exactly what we got, Pup was so welcoming not just on arrival but liaising with her on our booking beforehand. She made sure we had everything we needed - information about the wineries etc, made our dinner booking, and suggested a wine tour to take up....
