Stayed Saturday night 10/12/16 in Family Room with private ensuite. Perfection location. Lovely clean rooms. Staff are super-friendly. Wollongong is a fantastic tourist location and just a bit over an hours drive south of Sydney. Thank you!

We were going to a gig in Wollongong, which unfortunately corresponded with Australia's first ever Harley Davidson Expo, which meant every single hotel was booked out months in advance,so we got one of the only rooms left at the YHA. I stay in YHAs regularly,so I wasn't that concerned with the option. It's not too far to walk to the beach,mall,or...

Came here for a weekend getaway, the location is great. It's a YHA in student accommodation building. Not as clean as other YHA but it's acceptable. The vending machine is locked in the TV room, so buy everything you need before the door is locked.

I stayed here with my son en route to Sydney from the far south coast. At the end of a long driving day, this was a welcome break and comfortable accommodation of the hostel type. Very cheap in comparison with motels, and you get what you pay for. We had a twin-bed room upstairs, which though basic was what we...

So it's in a pretty handy location about 5-10 minutes from the main train station and right near some restaurants, the heating and bed were okay, the price is reasonable, security is good, the kitchen looked fine but I didn't use it. Reception staff were very nice and helpful. The negatives: It's just a functional place to stay with no...

Travelled to the Illawarra for a weekend with the kids. All motels were $140 per night up. Tried the YHA and took a motel room with double bed and bunk bed for $100 per night. There was a kitchenette and the room was new and clean. I will certainly go back there again if/when I go to Wollongong again.

Difficult to locate, Look for the university. Strange set up of hostel mixed with uni halls of residence and a confusing layout. Large lounge but no atmosphere and cramped dorms but the biggest bathroom I ever saw in my life. Two kitchens with a fridge for every room. Staff somewhat inept but nothing that won't stop you getting your head...

I was in Wollongong for a sports tournament with our club.It was a short 10-15 walk at most to the Stadium which was a good warm up. All I needed was a room with a comfy bed, a kitchenette and a functional shower. Fitted all of our needs and there were a number of inexpensive cafes nearby. There was a...

Location: I would've preferred closer to the Mall and the railway station Hotel: Open/spacious, common TV room near entrance, several kitchens - never crowded Room: The rooms on ground floor have french doors, so ventilation is a problem Positives: Kitchens, airy hotel Negatives: Doors were noisy, 2 bathrooms amongst 16 people I would've preferred that the hostel were a bit...
