Appalled and Can't believe in this day of technology and travel that this place Charges for wifi and Linen, which You, the Guest, have to Wash, plunging More Money into their washer + dryer Machines ! Renting Linen Is An Abysmal Trade Practice for an establishment offering accommodation and I Certainly Wont Be Doing Their Laundry ! Heating Is On...

Hello, the heaters at Launceston Backpackers are on timers, at this time of the year if they are on all night the rooms become too warm. We have regularly asked our guests if their rooms have been warm enough and they have been saying that the rooms have been nice and warm. The seasons are starting to change so we...

It's a hostel. You get what you pay for. Which is a clean room with a pretty comfortable bed and access to kitchen (fine as hostel kitchens go) and bathroom (pretty basic but mostly fine also). Towels and extra linen are extra, would be the part to note. Close to city and small car-park is handy.

Room has bed and closet. $1 for bath towel, i got a hair dryer for free. Staff was very nice, calm, easygoing. Bathroom is clean. Very noisy from the kitchen, people would talk and laugh and run outside your room even pass 10pm, could here the tv room as well.

Hello, thank you for taking time to write a review. Noise is not usually a problem here as our bedrooms are quite a distance from the communal areas. We also have doors which we close to separate the 2 areas. Sorry we had some noisy guests. We do have 2 night managers who live on site. They will tell anyone...

Decent hostel with comfy beds and decent facilities except for the showers. When it wasn't scolding hot or freezing cold, the shower just wouldn't work at all and the water would simply switch off. Showering takes 3 times as long as it should due to this.

I had read both good and bad reviews about this hostel and wasn't quite sure what to expect when I booked it for two nights late March. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was really nice and everything was clean, including the bedrooms, bathrooms and the shared kitchen. I didn't have a sleeping bag and had to rent bedlinen...

I stayed here only one night.Because need to continue to the other places in Tasmania. It's close the town.I just walked everywhere to other tourist attraction, restaurant and convenience store. And it's very easy to find. The room was quite old also the bed.You need to pay for linen and no free wi-fi.The share bathroom and toilet wasn't really clean.Maybe because it's share.

This place has everything you need but isn't very homely. WiFi is expensive. You have to hire out linen. Location is good. Rooms are large but I imagine they would be freezing in winter - it wasn't that warm even in February. Plenty of car parking spaces. I wouldn't be in a rush to return but there's not many options...

Hello Elenor108, thank you for staying at Launceston Backpackers. Our winters are quite cold in Tasmania and each room has a heater that keeps the room warm. We did have a cold spell in February and our heaters were not on for those days. Safe travelling.

This is a back packers, though they do have en-suite rooms at very good rates. Stayed in an en-suite - ROOM 8. The good points... at the back of the hostel not much traffic and windows that can be opened wide for fresh air. The bad points ... the bed .. only a double.. uncomfortable. The fan in the bathroom...

I spent three nights there. For the price you do not get a good benefit: the rooms are very old, not nicely furnished and my second one was moldy. The bathrooms are a katastrophy and toilet paper rarely available. The kitchen even worse; the oven really dirty and the fridge, too. Fresh towels do not exist. The best area there...
