The Fountain Terrace has to be the best accommodation in Melbourne. It is a stunning place to stay and can’t be recommended highly enough. It is a true ‘boutique’ B & B. We stayed there for one week in Feb. Penny and Heikki are lovely, attentive, very friendly and warm owners. The good -Beautiful house, wonderfully furnished, very comfortable room...

Stayed four nights at this wonderful place. I couldn´t think of two people who are so perfect for what they are doing than the hosts Penny and Heikki. Besides from being great fun and extremely helpful, they know the place and can advise on many things. All rooms are individual and our semisuit was very tastefully decorated and had everything...

We had a disastrous start to our holiday in Melbourne when we stayed for i night at Formule 1 Motel at the airport. It was terrible!! We then moved to Fountain Terrace for 3 nights. What a change! It was brilliant. Our hosts, Penny the lovely Aussie Lady and her husband,Hiakkal the "Crazy Finn ",should be very proud of restoring...

We recently spent a delightful three nights at the Fountain Terrace. Our room, really a suite, was large and very comfortable. We had a balcony that ran all along the bedroom and sitting room areas. The bathroom was well equipped as well. The owners are friendly, helpful hosts. Finally, the location is perfect. There are lots of good restaurants a...

The best hotel or B&B we have ever stayed in. What a welcome to Australia for our first time visit, Penny and Heiki who own and run Fountain Terrace are the nicest people you could ever meet. They have everything just right, nothing is to much trouble, the house is gorgeous, the rooms immaculate and the breakfast to die for....

Our stay at Fountains Terrace contributed to my regret at only being in Melbourne for three days - we could easily have stayed longer as there was so much more to see and do. Penny and Heikki were very welcoming, friendly and helpful; and the level of informailty they generated made it feel like staying with family. The building is...

We stayed at St Kilda, a beachside suburb of Melbourne, for a few days recently. We often stay in St Kilda when we go to Melbourne as not only is it close to the sea, it has many fine restaurants and is an easy tram ride into Melbourne. The Fountain Terrace is a charming Bed & Breakfast hotel in a...

My wife and I stayed at Fountain Terrace for 4 nights whilst in Melbourne on a whistle stop tour of Australia. Although Melbourne was overall the place we enjoyed least, our choice to stay here was the right one. The property is set a few minutes walk from central St Kilda, which is the Melbourne 'beach area' with a great...

Like other reviewers, we also found Fountain Terrace to be an excellent choice. Our room was large and spacious, and, again as previously reviewed, Penny and Heikki were always helpful. Personally we are not great fans of a communal breakfast table [perhaps we're just not 'morning' people] and breakfasts lacked fresh fruit, but the fact that these are our only...
