After changing our interstate trip in the last minute from NSW to SA, we decided to stay at Warrnambool for 2 nights. We hoped to re-explore the Great Ocean Road while supporting the regional business. We regretted for only checking the Google Review without cross-checking TripAdvisor as we were in a rush to book accommodation. Summary of my impression? Disappointing and overpriced. When it costs nearly $1000 per night for a 2 bedroom penthouse, I would expect a bit more. If you wonder, the price is for room ONLY. No extra - no meals, no access to any spa / hot springs. Everything costs extra $$$$$. First, I was surprised to find the hotel was actually situated behind another accommodation! The hotel itself looks dated. Access from mid-level undercover carpark to room is poor with no lift; upper level carpark is not accessible unless you have the room key. Therefore, only park at ground level if you need to load / unload your luggage. The room itself looks very average. Some area are just awkwardly redundant. There are also furnitures just seems out place - even IKEA furnitures look nicer and more user friendly. I might be picky but I believe most would not expect some furnitures and outside area to be found in a $1k-per-night 4-star penthouse. Please feel free to have a look at the photos - some are good, others are bad. Just too mixed to bring itself the expected luxurious feel. I was also appalled that there is only one (1) air conditioning unit in the living area. The 2 bedrooms, which are far away via hallways, only have wall mounted water heater. We were fortunate that the weather was ok, otherwise we would not survive the summer! I tried to look past above deficiency by enjoying the balcony. Yes, the mostly visible ocean view is good (there are 4-5 level apartments around us - so good luck to those at lower levels). However, the anticipated tranquility is frequently interrupted by noisy traffic and skate park just in front. Poorly maintained roof / balcony at other levels with rusty air-conditioning units also spoil the mood... Numerous other luxury apartments in Australia have a much better feel with more reasonable price. Despite being labelled a “penthouse”, I would classify it a rather ordinary self-contained apartment. Yes, it is spacious with good ocean view (just). But is it worth it? In term of service, it is quite difficult to judge. The check in progress itself was quite smooth. During the check in, we were reminded that there will be reduced service, such as room service / onsite dining / private spa bath service due to COVID-19 related under-staffing issue. We understand the this challenge. In fact, we have taken this into consideration when writing this review. Overall, I find myself very generous to give this place a 3-star review. I am giving the hotel a benefit of doubt that their service level at full staffing might be able to bring the rating to a possible 3-star level. Would I come back to this hotel again? I am sorry but not again at this price.

I thoroughly enjoyed the springs in the depths of a Melbourne winter- no crowds, lots of cavernous pools, and the nourish tent is an experience i itself when you feel peckish. The hotel, on the other hand, is expensive and not worth the price. Paper thin walls, ho hum furnishings and a bathroom that’s visible to the rest of the room so there is no privacy.

Booked 2 adjacent executive room and normal room. Amenities basic. Rooms small for price. Toilets were Good and ample linen and towels. Staff Excellent and eager to help. Room service gets busy as most like to have meals in room during Covid. staff and most guest complaint with mask rules and they encouraged to do so. Hotel is located at the beech but rooms dont have views unless 4th floor up. Again only few will have views. parking good. Rooms have thin ceiling so if you have a noisy neighbour will be difficult. TVs work off internet if too many devices- they dont work or can be temperamental. Over all, Good but for price which we understand due to covid have to respect the times and business situation.

We stayed here for 5 nights, in a studio queen room. Upon check in was a bit of a wait as it seems everyone was checking in at the same time. Eventually, our turn, which was easy and friendly. We got to our room, not a bad size with a very comfortable queen bed, fan over the bed, 2 side tables, large chair & tv. A sliding door out to the balcony, which we didn't use. The bathroom had a large opening to the bedroom which we closed off, but the bi-fold door did not lock into place very well. The bathroom was small, a single vanity, shower & toilet. Due to Covid restrictions, you could only have about 3 people in a lift, so this took time to get to different floors. There is free parking on site, under cover which is hard to get a car park or out in the open. The restaurant & bar were closed, which was a shame. We did have a booking to the mineral springs, which was relaxing. Not sure about the "mineral healing quality", for me it was more like a hot bath. Overall, it is a good place to stay

Great rooms we paid for the upgrade to get a view which was lovely. A very big hotel but the staff were always happy to help and friendly. Food was great at their restaurant. We also did a day in the mineral springs which was perfect and so relaxing. A short walk to the beach front where we also found a great cafe where I would recommend for breakfast, you can sit and watch the race horses being taken out for a swim as well. Would go back here again.
