We couldn't fault anything from the friendly welcome, the spacious comfortable room & delightful garden setting, through to the generous and delicious breakfasts. It's not at the cheap end of accommodation but is exceptional value for money. We could go on about the positives but just recommend you try it for yourself!

We stayed with friends and we both had large rooms with a private courtyard which was excellent for sitting in the evening with a glass of wine. The décor of the rooms were somewhat dated but were very clean. We enjoyed the lovely garden except for the pesky flies. the breakfast could have been a bit better and we missed...

Beautiful place so serene and one could just hear the birds. Service was excellent and our apartment was over looking the well manicured garden. The scones were mouth watering- I really enjoyed. Thanks to the management and staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Our first experience of Basildene was the lovely Danielle at reception. What a treasure. She checked us in and showed us around and then escorted us to or room. Our room "Malbec" was in the main part of the manor. The room itself was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean but as we were told on the smaller side, compared to...

Basildene is located literally 5 mins(driving) away from the town centre which was perfect for us. The grounds are beautiful with impeccably maintained gardens, gorgeous flowers and chirping birds. The view from the dining area is lovely! Unfortunately, it was raining 3 out of the 4 days we were there so we didn't get to spend a lot of time...

We had a great stay at the Grand Mercure. Staff were all lovely and attentive. The room was very spacious even with the sofa bed made up for our daughter. The hotel only has room for 19 guest (we were told) so it was nice and quiet. The cooked breakfast was great as well as the selection of quality cold...

We found Basildene Manor very relaxing. When it was too hot for touring, in the heat of the day, we laid by the pool which was well maintained. BBQ lunch by the small lake also had appeal and a delightful evening with wine and cheese overlooking the rolling lawns all contributed to our enjoyment. My only negative comment is that...

We loved our 4 nights here. It's a gracious 100+year old homestead built by one of the pioneers of the area. The manor has been converted to a boutique hotel, with beautiful interior design and decor. The hotel was at capacity when we arrived and so we were placed in a small 'manor 'room. This would have been ok for...

Spent two nights in the Grange room which was lovely. Outlook was pretty from our balcony and air so fragrant with all the flowers in bloom. Breakfast, daily fresh scones and an afternoon bake all complimentary - a very nice touch. WiFi was compromised however we came here to escape reality for a couple of days so it wasn't a...
