Rang up. Asked to book 2bed for 2 adults and 4 young kids. Was told too small. And will have to charge extra for them. Especially the 2 year old as they are the destroyers. Then referred to other accomodation which was horrendous. Luckily found other awesome place.

Stayed in the Coastal for close to 3 weeks back in January. I had an a-frame room on the upper level. Can't say enough about the comfort and cleanliness of the room, perfect. My stay was made all the more pleasant by the friendly and helpful owners. Thank You

We stayed at the Coastal Motor Lodge for 2 nights in March, really just to break the journey from Tongariro to Doubtless Bay,but we wished we had stayed longer. The lodges are a good size, well appointed and clean. there is a small deck with table and chairs outside. Ours had a nice outlook over the front garden to the...

Our room had a beautiful view of the water. Our room was very well furnished and had all the necessities need. The staff was most pleasant, and helpful. This motel is a short car ride from Thames where one can shop for food at a large super market or go to restaurants. We chose to buy a cooked chicken and...

Absolutely fabulous place to stay, we arrived late but the owners had left our cottage ready for us. We were thrilled with our room, set with the bush to the rear and to the side with stunning views across to the sea. (Tip ask for room 16). Lots of bird song to wake up to which was really neat. The...

The facilities are lovely but it was extremely frustrating not to have wifi. It worked for about 30 minutes and then stopped. The owners response to our frustration was indifference. He just shrugged saying people download movies. That wouldn't explain why it still didn't work the next morning.

From the moment you pull into the drive you can tell you have arrived at a special place. The units are extremely appealing with a 'Swiss lodge' look about them. Greeted warmly and upon entering our room there was that 'wow' factor feeling. They are clean, modern and attractive. Well set out with all you should need during your stay....

We stayed in this 'truly idyllic location' from January 17th-20th. The apartment was spotless, and the quality of the bedding was superb. The staff and owners of the property were very friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here. In addition to the regular room facilities there was also barbecue, and laundry available (of which I did have time to...

.....motel in an incredibly beautiful setting. The rooms are bright and airy with stunning views. Ours had a very well equipped kitchenette with microwave and fridge and was just perfect for preparing light meals and snacks. The accommodation was kept spotlessly clean by several lovely ladies who were always chatty and cheerful. Our hosts were wonderful, warm, friendly and a...
