Was a great warm welcome after coming off the bike trail. Great assistance to get to our rooms with our gears. Yum nibbles and drinks after organizing ourselves. Clean facilities. Beds where great and the meals and packed lunch was fantastic, more than any of us could eat. Amazingly efficiently run. Brilliant place to stay.

Stayed the first night at Ratahi Motor camp. People lovely, facilities good. Stayed in a basic cabin, nice and clean. Awesome showers. Shuttle to start of track, picked up in jet boat to the Lodge. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Dinner was delicious. Amazing scenery, semi tame animals around the property to amuse, people were great and made sure...

We had a great stay here Dinner was very tasty and heaps of it Wine was reasonably priced. Our room was very comfortable but due to the number of us some couples had bunk rooms. My only minus is the bathrooms. Bathroom is two shower cubicles with a joint access area. Which worked fine but was a bit of a...

I stayed at the Ramanui Campground (I also heard it referred to as "Joe's", but it's also attached to the Bridge to Nowhere Lodge - all in all, confusing) while on a Whanganui River canoe journey. We camped on a tent site. There are also small cabins available. Given that everything has to be carried in by boat or helicopter,...

My son and I did the 2 day Mangapurua/Bridge to Nowhere mountain biking package staying the night at TBTN Lodge. This was a highlight of our three week mountain-biking trip to NZ. The package included shuttles from and back to our hotel in Ohakune, jet boat ride to TBTN lodge, accommodation at the lodge and canoes for the trip from...

The Lodge is a only sign of civilization for miles, and is only reachable by River and trail. It is family owned and operated by a small close knit group of friends. My wife and I arrived by canoe (part of a package deal) and spent one night. The rooms were simple but clean. There was a large common area...

These guys were amazing when we turned up on the door step tired, cold and wet after biking from Retaruke in continuous rain. We were bundled into showers, they lit the fire to dry our clothes and shoes and then we sat down to a cheese platter, followed by the most amazing meal for hungry bikers. (Remember to leave space...

We loved our first family trip (2 adults 2 teens) canoeing the majestic Whanganui river. From our first night stay, Raetihi holiday park; packing canoes, transport to and from river, the service was friendly and helpful. When hubby injured his ankle they took care of us. Really took care. We were so thankful after arriving tired, wet and hungry. We...

We booked a night at the BTN campsite, after hearing the DOC one over the river was infested with rats and possums. The campsite looked good in the online pics and seems to have had some investment in cabins etc about 2014, but looked like it had been neglected since. The best spot was taken by the other group staying...
