We stayed here for one night and wish we could have stayed for longer. The Purple Room is amazing with plenty of charm and privacy, modern amenities, and the biggest bathroom you will ever see. Just for the room alone, this hotel is a must stay in Whangarei. However, if you have the chance to eat dinner here -- do...

We stayed for just one night on our way north, but we could have stayed longer! The room (or actually two rooms) was big and clean. We had read that Andy, the host, is a wonderful cook, so we decided to have dinner when we arrived. Both the lamb my husband had, and the terakihi I had were wonderful. Try...

We stayed in the self-contained accommodation and it was excellent. Really spacious, very nice design and facilities. Great for families, the kids stayed upstairs and we had our own accommodation downstairs. Plenty of outdoor space, animals for the kids, a games room and Andy made a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

We managed to secure our booking with Host Andy only a few days before our stay, and he was super helpful right from the beginning. Thank you for making our stay as wonderful as it was! We arrived during dinner time and Andy was really helpful in showing us around and making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms...

Host Andy was very welcoming in spite of our late arrival. He was a mine of information about the locality. A great start to our NZ holiday. A lovely room, set in beautiful grounds, and great food at breakfast and dinner.

So I was a bit nervous when I saw our inn was not in town and was set among the fields. Turns out, Lupton Lodge is an absolute stunner. Huge rooms, 12 foot ceilings, hard wood floors, lovely antique but not fussy furnishings, great bed and linens and what appears to be freshly painted walls and trim with all the...

This is an excellent boutique B&B, run by Andy, who is a Brit and an excellent cook. We opted to have dinner and my wife's chicken curry and my lamb were very good and the crème brulees we both had for dessert were excellent. The room was exceptionally well equipped with an air conditioning unit, dvd player and a comfortable...

We stayed at this lovely place for two days and loved it. It's located a bit outside Whangarei, but only a few minutes drive. The room were lovely and so were the grounds. They have an operating farm with cows, sheeps, hens (and probably more which we didn't see) and a nice pool area. The breakfast was also nice but...

Thankyou for your very nice review of Lupton Lodge, we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay. I have noted your comments about the wi-fi, and of course I was aware of this issue during your short stay. These problems are very untypical, most people comment very favourably about the speed and reliability of the wi-fi. However, being in...

We spend almost 3 weeks in New Zealand and this was hand down our favorite B&B experience. The location is great. The room was beautiful and there is air-conditioning. The food was amazing. Andy, the owner is a great cook. He makes a wonderful breakfast each day. You will be given the option to have him cook dinner for you....

I loved every minute of our stay here. So comfortable, and inviting! The rooms are luxurious in every way. Breakfast was SUCH a treat! Great job, Andy! Eggs perfectly cooked. Deliciously hearty gluten free toast with butter and jams. Beautifully kept grounds. The verandah is perfect for sitting and relaxing. Billiards, games and movies for rainy times. There are even...
