Bernie and his family run a well organised up to date Hotel with wonderful old fashioned hospitality. He was full of good travel destination tips, the meals were delicious especially the fresh melt- in- your- mouth Turbot and the steakes were suculant combined with a tasty salad bar. The room was modern, clean and well stocked. The large beds and...

This was our favourite stop for dinner in our three weeks in New Zealand! Not only are the meals HUGE! (try the ribs, they are the best), the staff are absolutely amazing! Meals come with amazing home made salads and the chips are also homemade! Great selection of meals. I couldn't recommend another place for food as I do this...

Great accommodation but the meals are great, you have to try the fish, this time it was Turbot and just so nice I had it 2 nights running. The salad bar is a good selection and all meals a decent size, I couldn't eat it all.

Paroa was great. We arrived early before the room was ready, but the bloke offered up an awesome suggestion of some gold caves on a small hike while we waited. The rest of the staff were fantastic, really friendly.

We only stayed here for only one night but wish we could have stayed another the rooms where very nice, large and comfortable. The area seems nice and quite. The hotel is short walk to the beach which was nice to go and view the sunset. The two gentlemen Harry and his father I believe that's his name that are...

Had a pretty miserable experience there; room was right off the highway and extremely noisy from street traffic; could not sleep at all. Owner Bernie is a nice enough chap and helpful with info on the sights to see and his restaurant was fair to good and the beach is close by but the motel (not hotel) room was old,...

Although we didn't stay in the rooms we ate and socialized in the bar. Our roast meals were very mundane and I would not want to experience that level of poor food again in a hurry. The vegetables were bland and the meat was so dry, this was not a cheap meal either. Just one more thing when the bar...

Fine dining with value for money in the most comfortable of atmospheres shared with the pleasantly of staff. The Beef and Reef cooked and prepared by Olivia was to die for, soooo good. Can't wait to return again.

I booked this hotel mainly on the strength of its positive reviews here on TripAdvisor, and I am glad to say that my expectations were exceeded. The Paroa Hotel has been in operation under the same family's ownership for over 63 years and over three generations, and you can tell because it's run with a loving care and attention that...

Stayed here last minute as unfortunately my wife was in Greymouth hospital. Alan and his team were so helpful and accommodating, fantastic. I stayed in a motel room which was finished to a very high standard, the complex also includes a great restaurant and bar. Really sorry we couldn't have stayed longer.
