We stayed one night and very happy. Much better than the motel which my friend stayed in. Beautiful garden, quite, very clean and good breakfast. The owner was very friendly. Will stay longer next time.

I didn't read any reviews of this place before I booked and glad I didn't, because any reviews that are below very good are rubbish and untrue! We stayed here one night, our first accommodation stop while touring the South Island. The gardens were beautiful, the cottage was well maintained and clean. The upstairs bedroom was HUGE and had spectacular...

I stayed in a room next to breakfast room so not the greatest location. Arrived at night and thank goodness I had a gps or I would have had difficulty finding the location on a country road. I imagine that it is a nice view in Winter when there is snow on the mountains. I didn't really think that it...

Thank you for your review Linda H. We are pleased you found your way using GPS, however we feel a drive along SH 1 (Athelney Road) and then a left turn onto School house Road is a fairly simple driving guide, and we are 2.3km down that road on left hand side, we do have signs up showing Ardara Lodge...

We enjoyed our stay here very much, it is a peaceful haven. Yes it is a drive out of the town centre but in our opinion that is a big plus as much of the accommodation nearer town is on the main State Highway. Winnie our host was very welcoming and we were greeted as long lost friends by Jade...

Hi Lyn C Thank you for your wonderful comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us in Kaikoura, it sounds like you experienced a lot of what Kaikoura can offer, despite the cancelled boat trip due to weather conditions. We are a short trip out of town into the rural country but that would take only 6-8 minutes...

We loved staying in the self contained cottage as the living space is split level it provided the teens some space, as well as some privacy for us. The food was great, and the host was very polite and helpful even when I dragged her out of bed at 7am to ask directions in town. We hope to stay here...

Hi JanelleS Thankyou for your lovely review, we enjoyed meeting you and your family. Our self contained cottage is proving popular to families and groups alike for this particular reason, two levels giving a bit of space and privacy (there is a bedroom upstairs and a bedroom on ground level). Our rural outlook complete with animals provide a relaxing atmosphere...

We booked Ardara Lodge B&B thinking it is a garden oasis, relaxation heaven with its own spa pool. The plan was to visit Kaikoura for Seafest and stay on for few days. We were happy with description of Ardara Lodge B&B on booking.com. We booked “garden view bungalow” (two bedroom cottage) for two nights, total price $340. On Saturday, 5...

After reading your review we would just like to advise guests on our side of the experience. As the guest booked through booking.com the information will be based on what that website provides so as to prove we did not mislead this person. We stayed in this B and B a little by chance but enjoyed the amazing quiet and the lovely modern and stylish rooms, with the stunning views across the snow capped mountains in the morning. Very friendly and the cat was fun.

The room was lovely with good views of the surrounding hills. Winnie was very friendly and chatted to us during breakfast. The B&B was a little out of the town which was nice and made it nice and peaceful. We had a lovely stay. Winnie also told us of places to stop and see on the trip north to Picton...

There were four in our party and Winnie from the Ardara Lodge put us up in the Cottage which had a kitchen, lounge/dining area, 1 bathroom, a downstairs double bedroom with an upstairs bedroom that catered for three. We were entertained by hedgehogs outside our door with a spectacular vista of the mountain ranges. The cottage provided for all our...
