Manakau lodge is set in the hills overlooking Kaikoura. It is simply stunning. The lodge has 4 rooms and is relatively new, very nicely furnished to a very high standard. Quiet and effective air con was welcome as the temperature was v warm, but in the early mornings we opened the sliding doors and sat on our small veranda to...

Wow, triple wow is the only way to describe this wonderful place. Firstly the owner, Neil is the most attentive and helpful host. He is also a very fine chef and the food is outstanding. We knew we would be late arriving due to the travel problems since the November 2016 earthquake. Neil kindly welcomed us with the most delicious...

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was excellent. Immaculately clean, great wi fi, super bathroom and the most wonderful views of the mountains. The lodge is so peaceful. Neil was very helpful, his restaurant recommendations were spot on and his breakfasts were perfect. Coffee or tea and delectable biscuits were always available. We would recommend this lodge without hesitation.

Thanks so much for your review, but more importantly, I must thank you for persevering with your travel plans to include us on your itinerary, given the disruption of last year's earthquake. We greatly appreciate your coming to stay, and of course we are very pleased to know you enjoyed it so much. Thank you for recommending us, and for...

An absolutely lovely venue, B&B style with hotel quality amenities if not even better. The room has wonderful views though a full wall of windows over an outdoor seating area. The wi fi is excellent, not with the Christchurch problems we experienced. Neil, our host, was very welcoming and his photography on display throughout the lodge is superb. His willingness...

Before the recent earthquake struck , we had the privilege to spend 2 nights at manakau lodge. Neil , our host, was our " personal guide/ advisor". All his advices regarding our trip were just so: places to see, restaurants in Kaikoura etc. Breakfast were perfect, and Neil's supper platters ideal after a long day walking and taking in the...

Stayed with Neil and very happy to see that the Lodge is in fine condition. The lodge is a wonderful place to be and luckily has not been affected by the earthquakes. Fascinating to see that the town is bouncing back given the circumstances. I would encourage anyone to make the trip to Kaikoura as the roads from the south...

Thank you for your compliments, and I am of course delighted to know you enjoyed your stay with us so much. We've had a little excitement here since your visit, but we are back to normal and Kaikoura will be fully back on its feet before too long, so we do hope to see you again sometime in the future....
