Managed to get the last unit in this place, Kaikoura fully booked out, what a coup. Room was fabulous, not beachfront, lovely afternoon sun at the rear of the unit, how nice sitting outside in the warm weather with a chilled glass of wine or beer. Very well appointed with cooking facilties and a good array of cutlery, utensils, crockery....

Why did we only spend one night here on our trip round the north of South Island. Kiakoura is a delightful spot and the walk round the headland has wonderful views of sea and coastline along with plenty of wildlife - including basking seals in large numbers. The Anchor Inn is quality accommodation, very clean and well equipped. The welcome...

We had a 3 night stay here in a 2 bedroom duplex unit. The unit was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is located right on the sea front and the views are excellent. It is a little way away from the downtown area but the benefit of this is it is quiet. The best restaurant in town is...

We were very comfortable here and had everything we needed. The Anchor Inn seems to be very well run. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. Many rooms have a sea view, just over the road from the beach. The Inn is about a mile from the town (a good thing from our point of view as it's quieter) but...

As soon as we walked in we felt comfortable. Pauline was a superb hostess. She was friendly & very helpful. Our room was large & well equipped. It felt as if someone cared & was immaculately clean. If we pass this way again this will be on our list. Thank you, Pauline

This was an amazing place to stay. The room was spacious, immaculate and set out beautifully with everything you might need from a microwave to DVD player. The bed was very comfy and it was very quiet at night. The owners were lovely making us very welcome and took us to our accomodation which was a lovely corner room with...

I looked all over the internet for somewhere else to stay in Kaikoura that had a sea view, two bedrooms, handy location and good quality fittings and found...nothing! So we stayed here again! And I was pleased that we did so. The new owners (since three years ago) are very nice indeed and the units were clean, comfortable and well...

We have just left this place and had a really enjoyable time. The owners were completely devoted to ensuring we enjoyed our stay and were kindness itself. The rooms were well-equipped, roomy and spotlessly clean. It must take a lot of hard work to keep a place like this running as well as it does and we were extremely grateful...

A great motel - the rooms view and mini patio on a beautiful day was a delight and so relaxing after a v long drive. The room was very well appointed and quiet. Pauline's guidance to the Roadside BBQ Seafood was great so add my recommendation too..

Keith and Pauline are the best! The Anchor Inn has come to be our benchmark against which other accommodation is compared. Few if any come close ...... There is nothing to complain about and insufficient space for superlatives but just a few comments. We wanted peace and quiet so chose this part of Kaikoura. You need car as it is...
