We stayed two nights here just outside central Nelson.5 minutes to supermarket and excellent Saturday markets. Staff very helpful; booked us a cab to get to the airport to collect a hired car. Nice garden to relax in. Two kitchens well supplied with items. Decent free wi fi. Recommended. beware of sandflies in the garden(Dettol and baby lotion mixed is...

What can I say about this place. Hostelling at its best and a example for all NZ hostels to follow. An effortless relaxing hostel. Very modern, clean and comfortable. Everything you need to unwind. I have been travelling for 8 months and would say this is the best hostel to date. (5months in South America and 3 in NZ). A...

This hostel is brilliant. A very homely feel and in a great location. The owner - Fiona, was very welcoming. The hostel is a nice size and great kitchen facilities and very clean. The bed was very comfy also. I highly recommend staying here. :)

This place has an extremely cheerful and helpful staff which we appreciated very much. The location is good, very close to the town center. Our room was spacious with lots of light. There are two kitchens and a cosy lounge. Everything is neat and clean. Of course, as in every hostel, you must be prepared to be woken up from...

How fabulous to be welcomed to Almond House by dumping our packs on the bed and having balloons and bubbly to help us celebrate our honeymoon! Great facilities, friendly and helpful staff and handy location to town.

My sister and I were on a road trip so stayed at a lot of hostels, Almond House was by far the best. Great price for a private room with wifi. Lots of space, comfy beds, great kitchen and an awesome garden to chill out in. Walking distance from the town and a short walk from the centre of New...

We booked a couple of nights here simply because it was nearly as cheap as a powered campervan site and was central so we could watch the rugby and were very impressed. Rooms were lovely and clean, amazing communal area with great kitchen and some of the best hostel staff we have met on our travels. Owner is lovely and...

I was only in Nelson two nights and unfortunately booked my first night in Aurora Hostel, which was just awful and so I immediately looked for another hostel for my second night and found Almond House. This is a very clean and very relaxed hostel which is more like a really nice home than a hostel. It's the best place...

Everything you need! Facilities are clean and well maintained. The shower was excellent with good water pressure. We had a private double room with shared facilities for $70 per night. Room was clean and tidy and towels were provided. Situated in a quiet area that is still close enough to central township to walk - 10 min, or drive 2...

“Couldn't speak more highly of the beds, linens and simple yet enjoyable decor in the 2-single private room with shared bathrooms. Nice to have a place to hang clothes inside as well, and appreciated the extra electrical outlets to charge our phones.”
