I stayed in Nelson for 5 nights in March 2011. I had a remarkable stay in the Te Puna Wai lodge. Richard and James are very nice, knowledgeable and well travelled hosts. They have flags from nearly all countries and when I arrived they fly the Swiss (see foto) flag for me! They gave me great advise what to do...

Great hosts with lots of knowledge about the area. We stayed in the upper bedroom with excellent views of the bay. Bathrooms are completely renovated with heated marble floors and high-end fixtures. Kitchen in downstairs suite is modern and renovated as well. Good breakfast and friendly cat.

We stayed at Te Puna Wai lodge for 2 nights and wished it could have been longer. The house is so beautiful and has been decorated wonderfully, in keeping with its era. We were very lucky to be upgraded to the downstairs apartment, which has a great little kitchen and roomy bedroom. I simply adored the view, especially as we...

We stayed for 6 nights split between the ground level apartment and the 3rd floor room. Although the 3rd story attic room is charming and has a bird's eye view of the bay, we preferred the self-contained apartment which featured a well equipped kitchen as well as french doors leading to private veranda and adjacent courtyard terrace. Views are equally...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and recommend it highly, Quiet, tasteful and owner/operated by a couple who care about what they're doing. We stayed in the room on the top floor and recommend it to others.....a hugh double window opening to a fantastic view of the water with the ocean breezes coming in at night was...

When we arrived here in late-February, we were upgraded to the Haulashore Apartment, which had become available. This historic house has been stunningly refurbished and very tastefully decorated. We can’t praise our suite of rooms highly enough: a beautiful bedroom with comfortable seating, modern black tiled bathroom, fully equipped designer kitchen with laundry facilities and marvellous views from a private...

What can I say about Te Puna Wai Lodge that hasn't been said before. The views are unreal, the best in Nelson and the service is unsurpassed. Nothing is too much trouble and the little touches really go a long way to making this place so special. You cannot go wrong with staying here.

This is a 120 year old Victorian house with a spectacular view of the ocean, beautiful gardens. Because of a cancellation, we were generously upgraded to a suite that had beautiful views, remodeled bathroom. There were fresh roses from the garden in the bedroom and bathroom, folk art from local artists, and the breakfast included fresh fruit, an omelet to...

The owners run a fabulous establishment. They are friendly, hospitable, and have a beautiful home that overlooks the sea and mountains in the area. They serve delicious breakfasts, and are very helpful with information on excursions and things to do in the city. They even put the flag of my country up at their home for my arrival. The gardens...
