We really enjoyed our stay at Muritai Manor and would highly recommend it. Nothing was too much trouble for Alex and Julia and they even came to a concert I was giving in Nelson Cathedral! The food was great, and the wine and cheeses in the evening were a lovely way to get to know them and our fellow guests...

Good to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us - we enjoyed the concert! We like to offer guests a different cooked breakfast for each day of their stay and are pleased that you enjoyed the vegetarian options we provided. Hope the concert went well in Auckland and that you are enjoying San Francisco.

I am a descendant of Rev. Alfred Cecil Wright and stayed at Muritai Manor last week. It was warming to see some of the reverends family photo's of the early 1900s while going up the steps to the rooms. The rooms are great with comfortable beds and very tastefully decorated including the ensuite . Alex and Julia are wonderful hosts...

Many thanks for the review - we really appreciate it when guests take the time to give us feedback on their stay with us. It was good to learn a bit more about Archdeacon Wright and we'd be interested to hear how you got on at Isel House. Hope it was a successful visit and you were able to find...

My family of 4 (children are 22 and 18) enjoyed 4 nights with Alex and Julia between Christmas and New Year. The boys loved the little cottage. The home was very clean and welcoming-- the breakfasts were great--fresh eggs, fruit, coffee, granola, toast, yogurt and even blueberry pancakes. Alex and Julia could not be more gracious, witty and helpful. We...

Many thanks for the review - glad you enjoyed your visit to Nelson, we certainly enjoyed having you stay with us. It was great fun chatting about good music over a glass of wine. The DVD is on order from our local music store - he tried to sell us the Springsteen one as well! Hope you all enjoyed the...

We stayed in the Garden Cottage. The room was comfortable in size but I found the bed really hard, and the pillows uncomfortable. And for that reason alone I would not go back. You need a car, it is not close to anything. We found the directions a bit confusing so be careful to not go into the city centre...

Thanks for the review - we do value our guests' feedback. We are both very sorry to learn that you weren't totally happy with your stay with us. We are surprised that you found the bed hard - it is one of our newest ones with a mattress topper. Although it is a fairly firm mattress, to give good support,...

We stayed two nights with Alex and Julia at Muritai Manor. A beautiful home, scrupulously clean and warm hospitality. Alex and Julia gave us great suggestions for dinners and activites for during our two day stay. Breakfasts were a definite highlight, with homemade granola, produce from the garden and the hens making even the healthy options feel sinful!

Julia and Alex are simply amazing!! The food was great with so many homemade delicious items such as cheese, honey, granola. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quaint and they use only local toiletries and do their part to help with the environment. The only thing we can add is that we didn't stay there long enough to enjoy the...

We stayed here on a recent trip to NZ and really enjoyed our stay. Our hosts, Alex and Julia, were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were just lovely and different each morning, using the freshest fruit and eggs (eggs from the back garden 'ladies), and wherever possible, home made - even a tasty feta cheese!! The room and bathroom...

Everything about Muritai Manor was superb. We stayed there the night before our wedding and it could not have been a better, more welcoming experience. Alex and Julia were exceptionally hospitable, the rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was excellent: freshly laid eggs, homemade honey and cereal, etc. The stay was a perfect start to our celebrations.

Beautifully furnished room with added extras such as homemade fudge, lavender shower bodywash and handsoaps and EXCELLENT wine!! Very lovely hosts who go that extra mile to make you feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious with homemade granola and fresh fruits and jams/spreads using local produce. I highly recommend Muritai Manor.
