We travelled to Pukematu Lodge in 2008 and became firm friends of Colwyn and Bronwyn. Unfortunately on this stay Bronwyn was in Auckland working on a rugby group. Colwyn and Bronwyn operate an events company as well. Colwyn is a wonderful character with amazing card tricks and amazing cooking and is also a marriage celebrant. These two people have an...

This was the best place we stayed at on our whole New Zealand trip. The lodge is way up on a hill and you have a fabulous view of the Bay of Islands. It was so peaceful and beautiful! The breakfast was very good and the hosts very friendly and helpful.

We had the most hearty breakfasts and Bronwyn made you feel so welcome. They complimented each other and are fantastic hosts. The rooms were beautifully appointed and Bronwyn made the devine afternoon teas. The fishing was great and I would recommend this lodge to anyone. You will be spoilt by this couple.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a touring holiday in New Zealand and it was one of the most memorable places that we stayed in all of NZ. The owners, Kay & Colwyn were in France at the time for the Rugby World Cup so we didn't actually meet them but we were superbly looked after by...

You could not find a more exciting uninterrupted view, than the 360 degree sea views from the wraparound balcony where you can also enjoy your breakfast on a sunny morning. Bedroom OK, better than some we had stayed at but the food and view where a joy. Very good hosts.

We stayed 3 nights and wished it could have been a lot longer. Colwyn is the perfect host, he has a new partner and the house is wonderfully welcoming. The views are simply stunning, the best in Russell. The breakfast room has the most amazing panoramic view of the Bay. At the drop of a hat Colwyn will take you...

My husband and I stayed at the Pukematu Lodge atop of Flagstadff hill for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. Kay and Cowlyn are your hosts and they are as charming and kind as one can be. They made our stay more memorable than ever. Our room was cozy with great views and all amenities necessary, as we wanted for...

This lodge offers breathtaking views over the Bay Of Islands, and the owners Kay and Colwyn couldn't be nicer or more helpful people, always available to book you trips/a restaurant if you wanted without getting in your way. They made us feel very welcome, and the rooms were exceptionally comfortable and beautifully decorated. Although breakfast was on the patio with the...

This is a very nice and tastefully decorated lodge on the top of the hill in Russell, Bay of Islands. Russell is a very picturesque place, although unfortunately it is really lacking on the cuisine front. There was really only one "good" restaurant and we thought it was extremely poor. Accommodation of any kind tends to be expensive in the...
