While I was in New Zealand, I stayed in the Bay of Islands at this beautiful villa for a few days in late March, 2011. Maggie was so incredibly helpful as she knows so much about the town of Russell and the area and its history. She was the most gracious host. She went out of her way to accommodate...

Te Pa Helios is one of those magical places you dream of finding when you’re touring a country, but rarely do. We had a fixed idea of what the Bay of Islands would be like, formed by travel guides and the descriptions of friends. At first Russell, though charming, mildly disappointed in scenic terms. But then we drove over the...

Staying at the Te Pa Helios was like staying in my personal sanctuary. The view was incredible and the hospitality was just right - very gracious and flexible to my needs. If I never left the villa I would have felt the trip was worth it but Russel is a wonderful little town with great shops, friendly people and attractions...

My wife and I recently stayed at Te Pa Helios in the beautiful town of Russell, and we had the time of our lives. Our villa was perfect, and it helped us to feel like we were on a second honeymoon rather than just a regular vacation. The staff was as present or as absent as we needed them to...

This was one of our last stays after 30 days visiting New Zealand so we knew what we could expect...unfortunately this was the only place we felt badly let down and could not recommend anyone stays here. We e mailed ahead of time to say we would arrive around 6.00pm and were told to call when we were on the...

We stayed in the Island Room for two days at the start of our honeymoon and loved it! It was a beautiful stay -- breakfast on the balcony overlooking the water is a must. The room was airy and comfortable. Definitely recommend doing the short hike to the edge of the cliff for a spectacular sunset.

Stayed 3 nights in mid-November this year in the self-contained villa and absolutely loved it. Its in a wonderful position just a short drive from Russell and close by some wonderful walks. Very well decorated and furnished with everything you could ever want for your stay. The views from the many windows/balconies are amazing as you are right on the...

Lovely hospitality from Maggie, and stunning location right on the Tapeka point cliffs, but the Island room we stayed in could do with a decor refresh.

We recently stayed in the Villa of this lovely boutique hotel, perched on the cliffs overlooking the ocean and many islands. The villa is a self-contained two bedroom double storied house. Located on the second storey are two very large bedrooms, both with king sized beds. One of the rooms included a large balcony overlooking the bay and islands. Both...
