We loved our two nights at Hawk Dreaming! Ian and Rana were wonderful hosts, and it was amazing to spend some time in such a beautiful place. Ian and Rana are becoming certified wildlife carers, and they were caring for an orphaned wallaby joey, Jilly, who was completely adorable. In the evenings Ian took us out to look at rock art and view wildlife at the billibongs, and we saw some wonderful things - Crocodiles, sea eagles, jabiru birds, thousands of magpie geese, rock wallabies, and the beautiful landscape of the Arnhem land escarpment. The safari tents were spacious and comfortable - we didn't spend much time in them during the day, but they were nice and cool in the evenings and at night, and they had a surprisingly nice bathroom inside the tent. We fell asleep at night to the sound of barking owls and blue-winged kookaburras, and woke up in the morning with wallabies grazing around our tent. It was heavenly.

We booked the 2 night / 3 day package and thoroughly enjoyed the genuine private Kakadu experience it provides on exclusive traditional land owners magical land location. Ian and Rana were great hosts who made us feel at home. Meals were not only great but an enjoyable dining experience with fellow guests. Just loved the two afternoon walks we did amidst the rocks which abound with ancient artwork. The peacefullness of the sunsets were amazing array of changing colours and wildlife. Hawk Dreaming is the real Kakadu experience. Tick the box.Guy and Alice.

We loved our night at the Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Lodge. Upon arrival at this remote and restricted area, local Aboriginal girls were having a swim in the spa. Ian and Rana the managers of the lodge for the season were extremely hospitable. The camp was clean and tidy and the the tents were immaculate and comfortable. Don't expect 5 star cuisine and wines to match, this is a wilderness area and if you don't go in with any high expectations, you will be thrilled with the stay. The local aboriginal people are made to feel welcome around the camp and even help out where they can. While Ian took us out to art sites unseen by many and to a billabong for sunset, Rana was back at the lodge cooking up a desert with one of the local girls.
If you want to experience something different and something unique, make sure you book a night or two at the Hawk dreaming Wilderness Lodge. One night was not enough for us. We could have stayed a lot longer.

This up-market wilderness lodge features glamour tent camping or 'glamping'. The accommodation is clean and comfortable with your own en-suite and toilet. The resort main building features a bar and restaurant with a small but adequate swimming pool. Nature walks to the billabong and surrounds abound.Meals were excellent.
