We had arrived after a big motorbike ride and were exhausted when we settled on this place. Once we checked in, we discovered the accomm was way more basic than we thought. No running water made the bathroom unusable, the electricity cut out in the night (probably not their fault), the beds were pretty average and musty and the door lock was rudimentary. For me and my Dad, it did the job, but for anyone a bit more fussy, I'd be hesitant to stay here - it's rough. That said, the owner's wife is a saint. She cooked us amazing meals and a lunch to takeaway to Horton Plains at 6am. Great food and hospitality by their restaurant in town (right opposite train station.

We stayed with Angel Inn for one night while trekking in Horton's Plains. While the accommodation was basic as expected, we made the mistake of hiring the owner as our driver to the park the following morning. This turned out to be a disaster! Hoping to catch the sunrise, we agreed for a pick-up at 5.30. However, our driver did not show up and another guy had to go and get him. After freezing in the dark for more than 35min we were finally ready to go. On the way to the park, we informed our driver that we wanted to catch the morning train after our hike, so time was of the essence. We were therefore very surprised to find that our driver had taken off once we got back from our hike. We waited 45min for him to show up - almost making us miss our train. Furthermore, he crammed a third adult into our tuktuk (with luggage) and then insisted that we all pay full price despite this clear violation of our agreement. All in all a terrible experience!

When we got off from train than waited for us very friendly guy and took us by tuk-tuk to place named Angel Inn. We stayed at the this place with wooden cottage which looks so naturaly. This young guy prepared for us very good and really tasty curry with the black tea. In this highly place was more colder than in lowlands thats why he maked also a fire for us. Angel Inn was natural friendly and little hide in the forest. From this place you can go to Horton plains National park but you have to ask for a trip possibilities.
