Excellent staff. My sister booked an afternoon tea for my 60th birthday. A couple of glitches when we first arrived but after speaking to the F&B manager, he sorted immediately. The staff were outstanding and the food excellent. Beautiful hotel and restaurant. I was so impressed that I have booked Sunday lunch next week
I booked a spa day with afternoon tea. We had a lovely welcome and enjoyed the outdoor spa. We spent some time in the relaxation room. My treatment was a back massage and facial with Kam. She was fantastic. The facial was excellent and she recommended Elemis products. Afternoon tea was served in the restaurant and was so fresh. We had extra tea and coffee served. Service was very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend for a day spa. On a practical note, yea and coffee available in the spa reception, just help yourself. Towels, robes and slippers available. A card is provided to use lockers and enter the changing rooms. Hair dryers, straighteners, Elemis products available in the changing rooms. Free parking but take note of the exit code as secure gated parking as you exit.
The hotel restaurant has to be the highlight... the food is exceptional- evening meal and breakfast and staff very helpful and pleasant. Our room ( deluxe twin) was clean and very comfortable with lots of room and we had access to the spa which was busy at the weekend so we didn't use it but I would definitely go back and stay longer. Excellent!
Another wonderful relaxing overnight stay at MacDonald Berystede. Thank you to Matthew, the Front Office Manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the service impeccable. The spa has great facilities including an outdoor hydropool, steam room, sauna, ice room and a large swimming pool. The spa was busy as you would expect on a Saturday but this didn't spoil our stay. Our upgraded twin deluxe room was large and comfortable, with an impressive Nespresso coffee machine and Elemis toiletries. This was a great value break and we look forward to our next visit!
We came here for my hen party. The service and food was good. We pre ordered veggie curry for some of the party and both got chicken. Our coffee too was absolutely awful even after trying to re make it. The fire alarm went off at 7am which was a shock to the system as it was a real emergency. Saying this, staff were very helpful, the venue was clean and very comfortable. Emma at the spa was just incredible, she was so professional, she listened to my requirements and I’ve left feeling sky high. Thank you so much!
i am honestly appalled to hear of the treatment of their employees. after hearing that there is still a pay gap between genders i am disgusted. knowing that the male employees are on a higher level of pay then their female counterparts for preforming the same role is beyond me. i will not be staying again
This was by far the worst spa day we have been on. The staff are unhelpful and unmotivated. The steam room was out of order, the ice room dirty and the water fountain covered in rust and dirt. The water container in the waiting room remained empty despite several clients asking for it to be refilled. We were unable to relax in the pool or use it for that matter because of loud music blaring for the aqua aerobics class. This meant most of the guests had to huddle out in the cold in the hydrotherapy pool. The massage therapist continued to ask questions throughout the ‘25 minute massage’ which made it stressful. We received 3 finger sized sandwiches for our afternoon tea, when we asked for a few more we were told we had to pay £5 pp more. £74 is an extortionate amount of money to pay for such terrible service.…
I had an amazing spa break and two treatments first I had best foot forward followed by a deep tissue massage. Thank you, Emma, you did an amazing job my feet they felt smooth and light afterwards and my back was left tension free from the massage.
There is major work being carried out on the staircase so when entering the hotel there is no wow factor. We were disappointed as this is not mentioned when booking. The standard room is adequate but could do with an update. Bathroom very small and not practical for someone with any mobility issues. We found the room very hot even after turning the thermostat right down. We had to open the windows. Such a waste of energy! The staff were polite and attentive and bar and restaurant very nice. Restaurant prices quite high for what you got. The swimming pool looked lovely but we didn't use it. We were visiting Windsor Castle and this was within easy reach.
We had a really lovely overnight spa break here last Saturday. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the restaurant food was delicious. There are comfortable seating areas, ideal for our group of six and the spa facilities were great, we loved the pool! we also appreciated how friendly all the staff were.
