Cozy, clean, beach front apartments. Awesome spa, had one of the best massages I've ever had there! Don't give it a 5 star review only because the breakfast (included) was a little weak, lacking variety and healthy options. But overall good experience.

Aligio's location is perfect. Right on Punta Poppy, walking distance to downtown restaurants and night life. I've been to Las Terrenas 3 times and this is the best location by far. The apartments are spacious and well appointed. We had 2 full baths, 2 half-baths, a hot tub on

I really enjoyed stay in Aligio, stuff is friendly, apartments are clean and the food is great. Great for relax, work and enjoy Las Terrenas. The only thing is little bit pricey, but if you want nice, clean and safe place, it's okay.

Response from Aligio2015, General Manager at Aligio Aparthotel & Spa

First off, guests arrived at the hotel trying to deceit from the beginning; they had a confirmed reservation for one week AFTER they arrived. Then it turns out that it was for seven days later. Guests explained that it was a mistake from their side. We told them to contact their agency for changing the dates but after several minutes" trying" it was not possible to contact them, so as the reservation was only for ONE NIGHT and we had availability, we were able to accommodate them. Besides, they arrived with a girl of more than 9 years old which was not declared in the reservation (it was only for 2 guests), So, the whole suggestion that the hotel was prepared for their arrival to steal their money is ridiculous (We have the documents that support the reservation for August 9th and they arrived Aug 2nd). We showed them two apartments in order to choose the better one to accommodate them with the girl. At the moment of check in we were supposed to make a hold (security deposit) of two hundred dollars, the clients gave us a credit card but we were not able to make the charge due to issues with the machine, we told them to come later to try again, also for charging the US$25 for the extra person that arrived without reservation. The gentleman came about two hours later but still we were unable to charge the credit card. He never mentioned that he had cash at least to pay the US$ 25 for the extra person. Now he says that he didn’t know that he could make the deposit or pay for the extra person by cash, when the payment methods are clearly stated in the email that we sent to them at the moment of confirming the reservation. They arrived to the hotel 9:00 PM, never left the hotel, and check out next day at noon. Their reservation was made directly with an agency and they were supposed to pay directly to them, not to us. So we never saw a single dollar from the guests. However, they claimed that $400 was stolen and demanded it back. Explain this please. He also claimed later that he had a lot more cash in his wallet, but only $400 was taken. What kind of a thief would risk going into the rented apartment, accessing the locked safe, rummaging through a wallet full of $ bills, count out $400 and deciding "well, that's enough, let's leave some"?? For unlocking a safe in case of emergency we have a protocol to be followed, in some cases it is even necessary to request support of a technician from the safe box stores; we have many different models of safety box in the apartments. We offered them to have police start the investigation, as from our own investigation with the staff that worked that night; the story is hard to believe. They did not want to have the police investigation, which is quite strange. Accusing us of not willing to refund money for the stay is an outright lie also. Looks like added for dramatic effect, "hours spent in the office trying to get the rent refunded" is FALSE. We spent time discussing, as the guests wanted the US$400 in cash at that very same moment without an investigation, When we refused it, the lady asked to be refund for the reservation, as we both were having a hard time, and the lady was accusing us of theft and threatening "bad reviews", legal action and such, we agreed to talk with the booking agency for the refund of the night (about 145 USD) we tried to phone but unsuccessfully, so the lady contacted them through her telephone and they called us (this time she was "lucky", at arrival they were not able to contact the agency to ask for changing the dates), at the same we were sending an email to Hotels.com saying that we will waive the charges (we have copy of the email), something that we really should not have done, but hindsight is 20/20.
