Booked a 2 bedroom penthouse for 5 nights in November and was looking to the 5 star that had given it. On Arrival location was great, friendly lady at check-in and let us check in early due to our flight, grounds are well kept and views are amazing. That is were it ends, paying a premium price and thinking a penthouse, all the furniture carpet looks original when it was built years ago nothing is maintained all dirty. The roof top deck not usable in summer period due to extreme heat there is no cover or shade up there to even use it. The balcony on main area was ok. The second bedroom set up a king beds ok but I have been in bigger inside cabins on a cruise ship that had more space, there is not table to put your phone or anyone on a table as nothing fits at the sides of bed, not block out shade so there brick glass wall that lets the light in from outside, also similar to master bedroom light shines in. The carpets in the bedrooms are fully stained, the ensuite to the second bedroom is not attached and its about the size of a closet. The drain in there all you could smell is sewer gas. Kitchen is bid, the lounge chairs leather as so uncomfortable all cracked and just dirty, needs an entire paint job, and full clean, walls, door jams even the mop is cheap budget / rusted and dirty. If you want a pool towel that will cost you $5 to hire, never been anywhere in the world at resort or hotel that charges for pool towel. Overpriced and not 5 star

Great communication from start to finish. Booked through the Jetstar app. Late check-in arranged. Seamless. Apartment has generous “water views”. Apartment was very clean and well appointed and presented. The pool was brilliant also. AC worked great. The grounds were extraordinarily well kept. Beds weren’t overly comfortable, but on balance, this is moot. Highly recommend this location. We were lucky when we booked - cheap stay: 3bdrm 2bathroom place - 4nts for about $1300. A really enjoyable first time stay in Airlie Beach. Thanks ever so much.

Wow is all's We could say. when we went towards our room.. once in our room this is awesome could be heard from my husband. The grounds were very well maintained the room was perfect. Clean and tidy. Booked as a special treat at $490 per night while family visiting. The location and layout of the apartment was great. Parking easy and friendly staff. Nice pool. That’s where the positive ended. I booked based on the Marina Shores website and reviews I had read. When I went to reception to complain about the condition of the room, it was explained to me that these apartments are all individually owned, and it was like “pulling teeth” to get some owners to replace furniture. The apartment was dirty, the furniture well past well worn, tiny TV, water damaged tv unit, stained and filthy dining chairs. I asked for a request to be lodged for a refund and was told today a 15% refund had been approved. That’s it. Looks like from recent reviews, other people have had the same issues with the same room so it’s not an unknown problem. I’ll let the pics tell the story.

Dear TinaC2941, Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry you did not enjoy every aspect of your stay. The management team at the hotel spoke to you at length, however were unable to resolve your concerns and did offer a refund as a god will gesture. As you have noted in your feedback, the apartments are individually owned, the apartment owners have recently upgraded bedding from queen size to premium king size and king/twin pillowtop bedding as part of an ongoing program to improve the guest experience. Thank you for your positive feedback about our waterfront location, the layout of the apartment, our complimentary undercover parking and you found the team friendly, lovely to read you enjoyed the heated swimming pool. I hope you can visit us again, if you choose to return, please contact me so I can personally attend to your future booking. Kind regards Jeff Aquilina Managing Director at Marina Shores at Hotel Group

We upgraded to a sea view apartment from a garden view and it was well worth it The resort has been upgraded and although not in the heart of Airlie was in a very attractive part of town It was only a brisk 12 minute walk into Airlie itself The staff were pleasant and professional and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay The apartments were well equipped and ideal for a short break away Restaurants were few and far between so you really need to get into Airlie itself for a nice meal out Would we stay there again ? Without hesitation !
