Stayed at the Metropole Guesthouse for one night for a wedding. The Guesthouse is conveniently located for train station and main street. easy drive (or solid walk) to three sisters. Parking available. Room (23) was small and exceptionally clean and very functional. The linen was clean and fresh white and the bed comfortable. The common areas are rustic and cute.

Room no 25, everything ok, but the noise from the passing train at the night really disturbing. The service was good, Just the last minute before we checking out, I have to move my car from the main guest carpark to bigger space to tidy up the car to prepare for long journey driving back to Brisbane, and I just...

Hi Kaiko, Firstly I would personally like to apologize for what happened to you in our car park, as it was completely unacceptable for you to be treated in such a way, but I can assure you it was not any of our staff at the Metropole. We appreciate you for bringing this matter to our attention and we will...

First was the tiny, allegedly a double, room they tried to foist on us for our three night stay. My wife and I could not fit into the room let alone our luggage. The lady in reception then found us another room, a bit bigger, but hardly roomy. Not a good start but it appeared things were on the up....

The room was comfortable and tea and instant coffee provided. Biscuits a bonus along with a lovely little lot of Easter eggs and a bottle of wine to welcome us. It is basic but beautifully located in the centre of town. While it is almost in the railway station, there was no noise - on our side at least. I...

Stayed here with a group of friends. Rooms varied in size and standard of facilities but more than adequate considering the price. Although our room was small there was a comfy lounge just down the hall. Meals were basic but quantities were fine. Location of hotel was excellent opposite train station and our package included Explorer bus for the duration...

30 Years ago my husband and I and my Mum and Dad stayed at the Metropole so we decided to take my Mum and sister there on their visit to Australia. We had the four bedroom family unit. We loved the size, the separate bedrooms, the extra large bathroom with full bath and shower and the lounge area. everything was...

Reception closed at 6pm on a Friday night. Not good when you are driving from Sydney and discover the room key left outside the back door in a car park. Only a double bed. A bit short for someone over 6 feet tall. Noisy pipes in the bathroom. Road noise from the car park and street below.

Hi Paul, Thank you for your review, we do try to encourage travelers to book rooms well in advance to avoid disappointment; should they require a King bed, we have 4 and they do sell quite quickly.

The renovated family room was clean and suited our needs. The two connecting rooms are adaquate for four people, but the large games room and library provided a great venue for us to hang out in the evenings. The table tennis and pool table were a hit. The kids especially loved staying here. The original features really make this place...

Convenient location close to the main centre & railway station. The old-world-charm has more a potential than the existing- let down by hap-hazard furnishings and a torn billiard felt. Our queen-size room with ensuite was located on the third (top)floor. The building temperature rose with the stairways. The bedding was comfortable. Two heaters& electric blanket were provided but not used...

Was not expecting much due to affordable price but was very pleasantly surprised with a beautiful vintage hotel. The room was amazing, large with a great bathroom and sitting area.
