Apollo Bay beach is beautiful. It has a small town of various shops, cafes, and restaurants. There is a competitive supermarket and is a really good choice of places to stay over on the fantastic Great Ocean Road Journey. We broke our tour into several parts. After leaving Melbourne we headed to Apollo Bay and Casa Favilla bed and breakfast....

A warm and enthusiastic welcome preceded a detailed summary of breakfast and contact arrangements. Prior to arrival, Gerald had proved helpful in rearranging our booking dates requiring a move into the room over the garage. This proved spacious and very peaceful. Crockery and equipment slightly eclectic and a few random date codes but a lot of effort had gone into...

We stayed here for 1 night on our way through the GOR. The room we had was very pretty and really well appointed, looking onto a beautiful garden and was calming and relaxing. The room ticked all the boxes and was really lovely. The host Gerard seemed a little flustered when we arrived, and while he was very friendly, he...

Yes, I seem to have slipped up a little with this one. We had a problem with a room other than that used by these particular guests and I was trying to be nice and polite to the new arrivals while also trying to get hold of a local tradesman who could tend to this issue that didn't affect them...

We recently stayed at Casa Favilla, and unfortunately we would not stay there ever again. For example, we felt for the price we paid it should have been a served breakfast, not self-serve, which is very impersonal. I found Gerard to be very friendly when I met him, full of good chat, a nice bloke, so it was odd we...

I am sorry that the shower pressure was so bad. A couple of others had said the pressure was low so I had removed the "water saver" valve that was fitted as standard in that room but if the pressure is still low then I need to get a plumber to check it out as no one has said anything...

After a long drive, it was refreshing to stay at a very comfortable and clean b and b. Great array of breakfast items was supplied and I was thrilled to try carefully selected breakfast goodies from Gerald. A wonderful unexpected treat was the complimentary port and chocolates that we enjoyed in the generous lounge in front of the fire. I'd...

It is always nice to read good reviews. In a town like Apollo Bay the accommodation industry is somewhat seasonal and this means that it can be difficult to maintain high standards all year round. This means good reviews are probably easier to get in late December just before we get too busy to get everything right all the time....

This b&b is in a lovely location on the south end of Apollo Bay right along the way to GOR. The host Gerard was very welcoming and answered all the questions we had. The accommodation was perfect for my parents and me, they had the bed and I had the futon which was very comfortable. Gerard had a great array...

I have typically taken more notice of bad reviews rather than the better ones like this as that way we deal better with whatever complaints may occasionally be made. This type of better review can help me to feel reassured that we actually know what we are doing. The challenging part is to maintain that sort of standard every single...

We stayed here one night while we traveled the Great Ocean Road. It's a nice, clean and quiet house. The room was very comfortable and the location was so convenient for walking to the restaurants and shops. It's also right off of the road so was easy to find when arriving in Apollo Bay. We stayed in the red room...

We recently stayed at Casa Favilla where we had a wonderful stay. The spa room was great, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was of a nice selection. The owner even bought 2 types of gluten free bread to accommodate our allergies. This is not a BnB where you can disappear from the world especially with the communal lounge...

We stayed here for a couple of nights to see the Great Ocean Road. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a bed and breakfast, not a hotel or motel. There are differences as we don't, for example, have a spa bath in any room but instead we have a dedicated "Spa Room" that may be rented by guests of ANY room that has been pre-booked. It is NOT a shared spa room but instead designed exclusively for a couple. We have complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in each bedroom, including black, green and herbal teas. The breakfast menu is complimentary and "as much as you like" (within reason) type of service, including Continental type coffee, but is not a cooked breakfast. The main shared lounge room with quality leather furnishings has a gas log fire. With only 3 rooms guests rarely compete for its use at any time. Breakfast is typically self-serve but we are prepared to set it up. It is just that most guests prefer to choose themselves in the morning what time to start the day, rather than be called for breakfast. ... more   less
