We selected the apartment for a family. Looked at the photos on the site. Very nice. When we got to the apartment. Painted brick walls. Run down. Flyscreens with a inch cap at the bottoms. Lot of issues. The pics from the site are nothing like the appartments (poss 2 pics out of 35? the bunk room and double bed,...

My first impression was that the hotel was old and needed to be refurbished. Then I read about its history and decided it was best not to judge a book by its cover. Originally built in 1876 and then rebuilt in 1919 after it was completely destroyed by fire it's no wonder the pub looks old. While it has had...

Took the family to the Lorene Pub for a birthday lunch thinking it would make for a great afternoon. We ordered the Mezze Plate to share as an entree & various mains. After waiting 45 min for the entree we asked how much longer it would be, then it appeared 5 min later. The mains then started to appear like...

We stayed for 2 days and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Our room had a balcony and views across the ocean. Our room was a standard one, bed, tea/coffee making facilities. We had dinner in the bar which was reasonably priced and delicious.

The older gentlemen guessing may be the manager looked st his watch, (3 mins past happy hour) and charged full price for a cocktail which in essence tasted like a mocktail. Cocktails in small plastic cups? Really guys! For $15! Don't worry this doesn't happen at other venues in Lorne. Double the price yet half the drink. Oysters were delicious...

Dear Mary, Thanks for your review. Im glad you had a good experience with our food. In terms of the cocktails, our systems automatically remove the 2 for 1 offer at 6pm. As a result Brian did the right thing and inform you that you would not be able to have the offer as he would not be able to...

Rooms are older and in need of a full refurbishment. Meals at the bistro were ridiculously overpriced @ $32-40 for a bistro main- we dined elsewhere. Very central and convenient location with nice water views.

Visited the Lorne hotel on a trip from Melbourne. Easily the best pub meal I've ever had and one of the best butter chicken curries I have ever tried. Good job chefs! Staff were friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere and gorgeous views. Good job team!

I highly recommend for anyone the place for a lunch or dinner once you are staying in Lorne! The best Australian atmosphere, very wide range of excellent food and drinks - the top of the choice! Beautiful views on the beach!

The Lorne Hotel has a great outdoor area with amazing views, so I don't want to discount it completely - but - the food was below ordinary. Like, really bad. And the staff member who cleared our table could not have been less interested. Maybe a place for a couple of drinks on a sunny day. Would not eat here...

Just stopped here with friends for a drink or two. Service was great. Bartender made some great drink recommendations, especially cocktails. Can't complain with an astonishing view and service to match.
